xFaReZ-
So whenever I play GTA for a bit I begin to hear a weird loud humming sound coming from my PS3 as if the fan was working harder or something (but I'm not entirely sure). What could this be and is anybody else having this problem? As well, should I just ignore this sound?

B7R
Its just the disc spinning faster... Just ignore it. Are you sure it's ok to ignore it? My old PS2 broke from the CD-Reader spinning 2 fast.
Poker2012chu
The fans run louder on this game because of the intense graphics and detail. Keep you PS3 in a well ventilated area. I can say that mine runs as hot as Battlefield 3 online matches. I would probably have another fan on facing the PS3 if it's a super slim because those are more susceptible to overheating, which is very possible when playing GTA V. customkingpimp
Seriously, Its just like a computer, when a game is loading, the disc spins faster in the optical drive, sounds the same as what the ps3 does. Ignore it. Its not the fans, its the cd.
