No playable female character

I could careless what race/sex the characters are. I am more concerned if the game will be worth the money

I'm fine with there being a female protagonist as long as they make them believable. What I mean by that is I don't want them being overly girly, but neither do I want them to be overly mannish. A nice mixture would be preferred.

It should be an option. That's one thing Saints Row does better then GTA. Having 3 male and 3 female voice actors plus full character customization makes replays more interestion. Considering Rockstars budget I'm supprised they haven't copied that approach. Laura Bailey did fantastic voice acting in SR and many other games.

But the female protagonist in Saint's Row was entirely unconvincing. It was OK because Saint's Row is one long cluster f*ck of silliness and hitting people with dildos, but it would be ridiculous in GTA. Look at the few strong, convincing female criminal characters there have been in GTA. Would you want to play as Elizabeta Torres? Because in order to be a convincing female character who kills, steals and sells drugs and whose one and only real motivation is pure criminal greed, that's pretty much who you'd have to be.

In October you can create your own Female Protagonist if you wish

 

And create your own story, maybe become even more successful/rich than Michael/Trev/Franklin!

It would have to fit with the story they were trying to tell. That's more important than the sex of the protagonist. Honestly, GTAV is the first GTA game where I finished the storyline. (I didn't even play IV, but I've heard some.. Bad things about it from friends. I'll probably pick up a used copy from Gamestop eventually though.) I loved the plot of this game. However, I can't picture any of the protagonists, as it is written, being female. Well, possibly Franklin.... If you wanted an option to choose a female protagonist, you'd almost have to write two different stories to get the dynamics right to be consistent with the other characters and the setting--possibly more story lines depending on which protagonist is female, or how many of the protagonists are female. (Which if the cost of the game remains constant, would be an awesome deal! ) Anyway, those are my further thoughts.
