car customization glitched?

So whenever you upgrade a car the only stat the seems to ever go up is the acceleration. Sometimes if you but the highest level brakes on it will increase slightly but that's about it. Is this a visual glitch where the bars don't show the proper amount of performance increase the tune does or are the upgrade parts glitched and not affecting anything. I seriously doubt R* intended for all the other upgrade to do nothing especially when you can fill your acceleration with a turbo mod. Does anyone have an info about this?

I was surprised to see that you couldn't increase the Top Speed stat. Not sure why that has been done that way but oh well.

 

The braking power and acceleration are the only two stats for the car that are upgradable. Apart from armour, ofcourse, but there is no visible stat for that.

Well I think it works as intended. But I wouldn't be surprised if they patch it, so that at least the engine alters the maximum speed instead of just acceleration. What i noticed though is, that even though the acceleration bar is maxed out, if you still buy more upgrades the performance will still increase.

The only reason i know it is how it should be is because it's explained like so in the strategy guide. It mentions that you breaks can only be increased slightly, and only the acceleration is increased by other upgrades

 

Do you know for sure that the performance continues to increase even when the bar is already maxed out?

But what's the point of all these various engine upgrades and such if all you need it a turbo and you'll have your accel maxed (unless you have a really slow car). I just don't see them intending for the upgrades to have such little significance if there are so many upgrade available

$30,000 on engine and transmission upgrades and you performance upgrade is a 2% upgrade to acceleration, which is already unrealistically high.

 

Yeah, seems about right with the driving physics this game has.

yea the only one that has any effect is turbo. Brakes sometimes very rarely can you see a blue increase with the highest package. Engine emc has very slight increase sometimes, seems to depend on cars, and the rest seem to change nothing other than appearance. All in all id say the only one really worth it is turbo unless you are loaded, the rest are pretty expensive and do virtually nothing.

I forget which car I had, maybe Michaels full time car (audi s4?) But the turbo upgrade did nothing after I did the max engine upgrade.

I've never needed to upgrade the break. I already think the breaks are unrealistic enough. I think the topspeed bar might be bugged because cars definitely go at a high topspeed.
