Are most of the people on this forum legitimately disappointed in GTA

For me the problems lie in:

-Driving is very dumbed down. In fact, the physics in general are extremely dumbed down compared to IV. The one thing that stands out as being odd because of this is them having added "crosswinds" to make helicopters and planes wiggle uncontrollably. I really don't understand what it was they were thinking. Makes races and cop chases quite boring, and you really can't do any cool stunts or have control over drifting. Since cars already have super tight grip and are near indestructible, there's not much a point to taking them to LS customs other than for aesthetics. Motorcycles are ruined, and while the bicycle controls in San Andreas weren't perfect, they felt far less rigid than in V. Only thing that isn't much of a problem is the boats and submarine.

-No purchasable safehouses. I thought that was one thing that was actually advertised, but I guess those "for sale" signs are for nothing outside one stranger mission. This is one area where I planned on spending most of my money, and with this gone, well, there's not much else too interesting to spend money on.

-Lack of importance of stealth outside of missions. I thought it would be cool to be able to sneak around certain places like the military base rather than having an automatic wanted level. This also makes the supressor attachments pretty much useless because you seem to get wanted anyway. Even when you're in stealth mode and the cops are looking for you, it's not so much that they simply search the area as it is they just home in on you regardless of whether they see you get to your hiding spot.

-Things like yoga or tennis implemented at the expense of more interesting activities that were in past games and yet got omitted from this one.

-This one is more subjective, but while the map is certainly big and interesting, I feel it is more just a shell of San Andreas, taking places from that game just to appeal to nostalgia. I feel not enough time was really taken to make it a bit more interesting in terms of exploring and gameplay. Maybe it's just me, but the city still felt kind of small, and there weren't enough backroads through more woodsy type areas. There's still a lot there, but a lot of it seems to be barren mountains stretching all the more interesting places farther apart, surrounded by a freeway that really isn't very interesting to ride along because it never really changes or splits up like it did in SA.

-The story has a lot less "filler" and goes at a much faster pace, but honestly I think it could have been fleshed out a little more. There was some filler type stuff in the past games that didn't really end up mattering in the long run, but still added some depth to the world.

For graphics and gameplay GTA V wins, for story GTA IV wins, GTA Vs story was rushed and there weren't any iconic characters/missions to remember.

i'm not disappointed. also most the disappointment is just from this site, but i'm not surprised, people spent the last 2 years picking apart every little bit of info R* gave them. i've already seen multiple complaints from people complaining that R* didn't add something they said they would, when the feature was entirely speculation in the first place

Oh but I thought GTA V was the best game ever and nobody knew if R* could make a better game :sui:

Oh how opinions change after everyone actually plays the game :sui:

The only things I am dissapointed with are Rockstars deceitful marketing and the possibility that this could be the last great/good GTA single player game.

The SP has clearly taken a back seat to the MP and the future of the series seems to be some half assed, pay to win, mmo.

The only thing that disappoints me is just how aggressive the cops are. It's pretty much impossible to have fun battleing the police unless you're in the air or in a tank.

Only thing I was dissapointed was the real estate part... I'm not dissapointed because there is no real estate to buy (in SP), I'm just dissapointed that R* mentioned you can buy them in the gameplay trailer and seems like you cannot after all... other than that this game is a masterpiece

Was it this trailer? It's for GTA Online

The story. Too short. Only 2 (3) heists that actually pay off. How the hell r u supposed to buy the properties.

The guys doing stuff free for everyone - come on.

The story had chances to be big. Dudes getting rich by pulling series of increasingly tough heists. But in realitu still Before the last mission u are still relatively broke. And after the story is done i lost interest in buying anything.

They shouldve made the story longer and more economically satisfying.

Actually before the game was released (1 week before) this forum was a chaos, everyone was complaining about something but now that the game is released the forums have been much calmer and you see a lot of positivity (but there are still some complains like interiors and stuff that rockstar made you believe would be in the game and now it isn't)
After playing the game I can say without doubt this is the best gta out yet and I played all of them, but I'm a bit sad that they seem to be focusing more on the multiplayer part than single player.. gotta wait to see

Yeah, I love the game, but if there were a few more things to do in single player like rob peds, do bank/jewelry heists in free roam, gambling, maybe drug wars, and a few more interiors added like Burger Shot, nightclub, and maybe a shopping mall, it would have been perfect.

I know this is a new game, but SA had most of this stuff and more and RDR had the ability to rob random people. It's just so odd that R* didn't add this stuff in such an ambitious game.

Probably. Most people on this forum are retards.

I saw this coming months ago. I even posted about it in some of the "hype threads." All the wild speculation and expectations for ridiculous features (seasons, realistic hair growth over time, hot coffee v2, children pedestrians, etc.) combined with people talking about how this was going to be the best game in the history of forever led to overhyping and setting standards far too high.

Now the forum threads are 90% (probably more) butthurt manbabies crying because some random feature isn't exactly how their tiny hamster brains imagined it to be. That or general "this game sucks" threads from entitled adolescents with parents who didn't beat them enough.

It's actually gotten worse here since launch; the threads are filled with so much stupid, it violates the laws of physics regarding how much bullsh*t you can pack into a finite space.

I could keep ranting but I'm probably just contributing the the problem.

I kinda agree. I went around broke pretty much the entire game, just doing the storyline. Then all the sudden it's over and I have a f*ck load of money but it felt empty. It's not like I was slowly buying things to get to that point and telling myself I just need a few more thousand for this and that. Games over, huge bank account....... ok.... now what?

Also people keep jerking San Andreas off, I think a lot of the people need to go back and play that game and realize the graphical difference between these systems. They practically took San Andreas and make it look absolutely astonishing in GTA 5. Facial mechanics, physics, weather effects, underwater, everything is pretty much jaw dropping. All of that work isn't easy.
