Auto weapon firing rate too slow ? Sound mismatch

I posted on this issue before and was shot down in flames for DARING to mention a negative . Well, I shall give it another go. Please respond in a mature manner about the issue, and not with a pithy .gif that achieves nothing.

 

Auto weapons in V fire at around 300 rounds per minute. Approx 5 per second. This is FAR slower than the 600-1100 rpm of real life automatic weapons. In other words it takes 6 whole seconds to empty a 30 round clip, This is ridiculous. You are far less effective in a firefight if you cannot pop out of cover and squeeze of a lot of rounds.

 

The gunfire sounds are doubled up as if the rate of fire actually WAS 600rpm. Try it, a squeeze of the trigger firing a single round sounds like a 2 shot burst.

 

The M16 in GTA3 fired at very high rate of fire for christs sake, why did R* tone down even this aspect of the game ???

I don't have the game, but i've noticed that weapons fire slower, when i think i heard 6 shots for example i see on ammo count that player actually fired only 2-3 bullets.

I think they made them slower seeing as how you and everyone else pretty much dies in a couple of shots.

It's fine the way it is. They did it because NPCs and peds get killed almost instantly when you shoot them.

I find it a touch annoying because It would be nice to spray at a fast rate to really do some damage quickly. It helps because you can put a lot of rounds downrange without total accuracy and have a higher chance of hitting a target with a fast rpm rate.
