MarkLT451 Posted September 21, 2013 Share Posted September 21, 2013 Ok so, as has been said numorous times the Garages at each of the safehouses dont work at them moment. I dont know what the deal is but DO NOT SAVE ANY CAR THAT YOU HAVE SPENT MONEY ON AT THE SAFE HOUSE GARAGES!! The only place atm to safely save any car that you want to keep is in the 4 car storage garage that each character has. Thats the Vinewood garage for Micheal, Grove Street garage for Franklin and the Pilbox garage for Trevor. I have lost well over 2 million dollars worth of cars/mods due to the safe house garages not saving. Including a fully tricked out Adder. Luckily I only lost the value in mods on that one cause it can be found parked down the street from Micheals house. The way the impound works seems to be, at least for me, any car that you have spent money modifying, that you leave on the street or during a mission will end up at the impound where you can pay like 300 bucks to get it back. This does not include cars lost due to being left in a safehouse garage or random cars you steal and dont put any money into. Trevors trailer safehouse garage seemed to be the only one actually saving cars I put there but I would not count on that at the moment until Rockstar actually make a statement on the safehouse garage issue. Franklin is still using his Buffalo and that bike you get off that guy you kill early on in the game, Michael had his car "borrowed" by Jimmy and eventually turned up with another one, and Trevor has his truck and none of them have disappeared on me so far. I went out (IRL) turned my xbox back on and went to my garage, it was gone. I was like wtf, went to the impound and it wasn't there so I rage quitted. If you google GTA 5 safe house garages not saving cars you will see lots of people are having the same problem. Also, for the people saying they haven't had any problems, I would stay on the safe side and seriously only store your expensive/favorite cars in the unique 4 car garage each character has. The character specific cars ie; Trevors truck and Franklins Buffalo will always be at your safe house. The cars that are not being saved at the safe house garages are any other car you steal/buy, whether you spend 100 grand tricking them out or not. They dont even show up at the impound either. They just disappear. Also, I have seen several people talking about storing the character specific cars in the safe house garages and having a duplicate spawn directly on top of it when they come back/reload the game lol. DrAnomalous Posted September 21, 2013 Share Posted September 21, 2013 I might of lost a modded Mesa Trevor had, he brought it over when he first arrives at Floyd's house in LS from Sandy Shores. I also lost Michael's modded Granger during a mission and that never showed up at the impound. I'm still wondering how reliable impounds and garages are. M22 Posted September 21, 2013 Share Posted September 21, 2013 Yeah i have lost a few nice cars in Michaels and Franklins safehouses like the baller, scwartzer, zion, etc so now i just use there cars especially Michaels wife, her Sentinel is actually a nice car especially after what jimmy did to Michaels, wish i could customise his car and it would stay the same saved in the driveway. disC Posted September 21, 2013 Share Posted September 21, 2013 Happened to me too, tuned the hell out of a coquette and decided to park it in Franklin's safe house in vinewood . Then I turned the xbox off and went to sleep, next day the car was gone. Only the buffalo was parked outside. I don't know how far along you are in the story but all of the characters cars -- Micheal's, sedan, Frankie's Buffalo, and Trevor's truck don't disappear. I tricked out a muscle car and went to park it in my garage, but it said it was full and that I had to remove a vehicle to fit my new car in. So I went in and took out a mountain bike I had in there, but when I got outside my new baby was gone. D:< I also had a problem very early in the game where Franklins buffalo disappeared for a few missions.
