Glasgowsmile
I personally found it over-hyped as well. Lack of certain customization options like vehicles, hair styles, and tattoo's -- while little it is something that I would have enjoyed having more of. I don't actually enjoy switching between 3 people -- I prefer one character that feels more like 'my own' as opposed to 3 characters that I'm just playing as. The business' make barely any money from what I've seen and up until certain points in the game I had no money to work with at all due to investing in businesses that did nothing for me. I'm really sad that I cannot purchase additional safe houses, I want more variety in this department -- I'm tired of my current location. The story itself is good and pretty fun but I've never played these games for the story. I wish we could enter more buildings, especially some of the ones we purchase. I can purchase a bar but I can't actually enter it? I want the option to set up Heist separate from the story line and really design them my way and reap the rewards of my efforts instead of waiting for the story line to provide me with them. (maybe this is an option later on? I don't know). When I purchase a car I want it to show up in my garage regardless of whether I destroyed it once or lost it. I've lost several cars simply by driving, wrecking, and dying during the wreck. What a waste. I personally think the game sits closer to a 8.5 or 9 for me at this point in time. Spitfirex007
LOL at the morons calling people cry babies for not kissing the ass of Rockstar. When you invest money into a product, you have the right to your opinion. There are flaws. There are things that lead people to believe one thing, but we were giving something else. Maybe instead of being tight lip about every detail, Rockstar should have came out and explained the difference between online and single player. Pretty much everything I read or seen was speculation. There are things left out of single player, when there shouldn't be. If you can buy houses and decorate them as you want online.. you should be able to do the same thing in single player. If the casino is an online feature, it should be in single player as well. If Rockstar is going to build the hype up over doing these heist missions, they should deliever. Sure they were fun! But they weren't as promised. This game was build around the online. It seems Rockstar just threw what was left into single player and said to themselves, "Yeah that will hold them over for a week or two" As I said before, it's still a great game. But it's not nearly as good as expected IN MY OPINION. I use to buy 2-3 games a month. Now, I buy 1 game every 2-4 months. I am not an online gamer. I can't stand the community. Gamers are so hung up on stats, they'll do anything to up their KD. Which means ruining the experience for other players by cheating and whatnot. When I do buy a game, I expect a soild single player experience. The fact that things were left out of the single player, it annoys me. That forces me to play online if I want to enjoy those aspects of the game. PkUnzipper and ACR
TheSoup
Great game, looks stunning especially driving in storms with forked lightning and sh!t beating don on you. Few grumbles though: radio is garbage, all pop and hip hop flop. Where is the brilliant VCPR or other comedy chat shows? And the motorbikes drive like kippers. The body armour seems to be made out of paper too. Not game breakers by any means but low points for the game as a whole. Everything else is solid though. Im something like 32% complete, don't really want to finish all the main missions because GTA games are notorious for being boring as f**k after they are done with. Yes there's golf and tennis, which are surprisingly good (darts is too easy though) but wouldn't hold your interest for long outside the main game. They are good for disractions during the main missions but can't see many loading up GTA5 just to play golf when you have better games made for the sport. I hate the cops, stop telling me to play my little pony or whatever because of my opinion. Grow up. Cops are another one of those things that annoy me. They doesn't bother me as much as some other things, but still they need a patch or something. IRL I blow up a car, cops are going to swarm me. But this is a videogame! The series was built on blowing things up and causing mayhem in a extremely over the top fashion. You get into a shoot out, die and go back and do it again. In GTA5 getting a 3 star wanted level is like getting 5 stars in all other GTA games. The biggest issue is your health doesn't regenerate unless you stand still. Which is kind of hard to do with choppers above your head and 5-6 squads cars on your ass. It just ruins the fun of causing mayhem since it's so easy to get 3 stars in this game. What would really be nice is to see sliders (like in sports games) turn the slider all the way down, cops don't come at all. Turn it the whole way up and swat is on your ass for farting Then everyone would be happy. Edited September 22, 2013 by Spitfirex007

ClippedWings
I've done around 40% of the game I really like it so far.. The only complaints I have are obviously the cops, they're fun yes, I like that civilians call them on you for various things, but they do need to be toned down a bit, to be able to cause mayhem and have fun and not die instantly from 2 star cops.. Another thing is money. I missed a few investments in stocks with Lester missions and later on in this forum I found out that the best way is to complete the main story and then do his missions, so you'll have the most money to invest and profit. How was I supposed to know that? I thought that Lester missions are mandatory and you wouldn't be able to finish everything else if you didn't do them, I didn't know other story missions are still there after you finish the main heists.. At least there should be an option to gain money from stocks by replaying those missions again, while not having to start the game all over.. Now I know that once I'm done with the story I'll be missing tons of money because I didn't know you had to wait till the end to get the full money from Lester / stocks.. Insane Elite
Well, GTA V is no doubt a great game, but there are some flaws that could've easily been avoided. And yeah, the game was a bit over-hyped and heck, Rockstar postponed the release date to like 5 months... that must mean something, that must mean that the game should've been super flawless (yeah I know that no game is perfect, but still there should be very less flaws). But now we see there's some real silly flaws in the game that could've been easily avoided. But still, this game is just great, the flaws are very little (but silly though) compared to the awesomeness of this game. SteaVor

afatbanana
Dude I agree the game was alittle hyped up.. but for me I cant stand having 3 characters I have to switch between.. on top of that you cant share cars between them or anything.. lets say u find an infernus with trevor and but u wish u could give to franklin. well u can. all u gotta do is switch to franklin to see his location, then switch back to trevor and drive back to franklins location. so yes u can share/give cars to other characters
BrowneyeUK
I think a lot of the naysayer's will back up once GTA:O is released. The game as it is now is a vehicle for the story mode. Once GTA:O is released and is followed up with whatever DLC's come our way i'm sure they'll make full use of what to be honest, is a fantastic improvement on previous games. Why shouldn't they open it all up with DLC's? its a business model at the end of the day and paves the way for future titles. I've massively enjoyed the story mode and look forward to seeing what else follows it up. Just have a bit of patience before you send the jury out. xPRG 4thelulzz
I really wanted to get lost in the woods, but I knew where I was at all times due to the draw distance. A lot of stuff they said was in ISNT in. Changing plates? Nope. Getting a wanted level when cops see you in a stolen vehicle? Nope. Robbing ATMS? Nope. Most interiors? 90% are mission based. Planes? You can't even find a majority of them. It's just a let down, but I have only myself to blame. A majority of the map is mountain. Mount Chiliad alone is like 70% the area of LS. Properties? They led us on by articles and a gameplay trailer. The game's good, but not amazingly awesome. a few minor corrections: Changing plates? Yes, the colour can be changed and you can customize them with a FREE app planes? check the airport, for the ones you can't find you can buy them, not including the fighter jet and the Titan properties? we can buy stores, they said you couldn't buy houses

And that's not the point btw. The system should have been seamless enough to allow Trevor to call Franklin (or Micheal) and transfer ownership of the vehicle to that character. All in one simple phone call. Then all Franklin (or Micheal ) would need to do is drive to the location icon which immediately appears on the map after the phone call to pickup the vehicle. They did this in BoGT with Yusef's car in the final mission Luis did for Yusef. So why not extend that concept here? Oh no--wait a minute--if this feature is included, it will most likely be in GTAOL >,< Edited September 22, 2013 by PkUnzipper
SprayNpray
MOST of the people whining on this thread have unrealistic expectations. every single game in existence has flaws, even the games that received a 10. yes, this includes the last of us and bioshock infinite. what does GTA offer that these two 10's don't? very, very lengthy story, an amazingly well thought out and realistic open world game, and what appears to be an extremely well planned out multiplayer. It's so easy to point out flaws in these games, but they still received 10. why? because they're innovative, and are way superior to other games out there. Now, obviously people are going to have negative opinions, and dislike this game. this is true for any game. and many of them will filter to this thread to post their hate. but the vast majority of people love this game, even critics, and they, as well as i, agree it is superior to most games out there, and that is why it gets a 8,9, or 10 out of 10. GTA 5 for me, thus far, is superior to every other GTA, except for maybe san andreas, but i don't know yet. cops are easy to escape, you must just suck at it. they're also not too hard to kill, unless you're franklin and using a pistol to kill a N.O.O.S.E team. use cover, use your special ability, and aim for the head. for all it offers, it deserves at least an 8. easily. overhyped? of course. but deserving of its high rating. MikeMyth
Jesus Christ, I understand R* didn't put everything they said they could in the game, *given it'll probably be in Online if not Story Mode* but is still a big jump from what we had in IV and past GTAs. Instead of complaining about what isn't in the game, think about all the wonderful stuff which R* did add. I understand if maybe you feel the "story missions" were boring, then fine. But don't complain about stuff which aren't in the game... focus on the good stuff we did get that we didn't have in other GTAs..
