Lol somebody will always complain. This game deserves nothing less than a 10. You cry about the multiplayer but why would you buy an open world game like GTA to play online anyways? Vice City was great but it's time to get with the times now and enjoy the newer generation of gaming. GTA 4 was kind of garbage by itself the missions were boring. This is the most fun Grand Theft Auto game I have ever played. Overhyped.....? I don't drink your koolaide.

I dont think they shouldve even released it until they had the online portion working. it just seems so empty, like so much is missing.

i just cant believe how much they changed it instead of adding to it.

like gta 4 was a huge addition to 3 and vice city. not so much to san andreas. so i was really hoping V was gonna be gta 4's san andreas., maybe they add patches to fix up some of the mechanics.

or maybe not. just more dlc to milk more cash. i miss quality games.

 

but the new like auto correct flying, its lame. it's like they tailored the game for less hardcore gamers.

alot of the game companies have done this and its kinda sad that rockstar followed their lead.

they need a hardcore mode or something.. i miss flying through windshields and dieing in car accidents.

there's just so much sh*t they took out from gta 4, look behind while driving 1st person literally looks at your character looking in the rearview. like wtf?

 

did different teams from rockstar make this one? opposed to 4. feels like they just handed the project over to some gta newbs. they had plenty of years to make a bitchin game but totally slacked on the angles that ,matter

 

other examples; diablo 3 and battlefield. i got a feeling 4 aint gonna be much an addition to bf3.

 

its all about sales instead of quality games now adays.

I'm giving single player a 7/10. I still enjoy it, put a ton of time in. But its not nearly as good as Rockstar made it look

I agree with your comment about cops. I like the realistic feel of them. But they do respond to quick sometimes. If you want to cause any mayhem, expect die rather quickly.

 

Heist was suppose to be this big awesome feature. You're plannng as experience criminials. Why am I robbing gas stations for a couple hundred bucks?! They promised we'd plan your attack, choice your crew! The better they preform, the better they get. Blah blah blah Out of the 4 I've done so far I got to pick the route twice and pick my crew once.

 

Trevor and Michael's character really pulls you in. Franklin is suppose to be a banger. But I have yet to see any real gang wars. What happen to getting a crew and rolling up for a drive by? Random shoot out's between rivals. That part of it is a disappointment.

 

Activies. Though there is a good bit to do on the side, nothing to exciting that will have lasting appeal. Why is no surfing? No bowling, There is some awesome rivers that would be great for a fishing mini game or even white water rafting or something. Venice beach is famous for it's basketball and volleyball courts. Can't play those! Not even any NPC playing..

 

Properties. There is nothing worth while to buy. Over priced business's that will take months to break even on. Each character has a few options to customize them. Nothing new or pushing limits. No houses, nothing!

 

I get Rockstar is putting a lot into the online part of this game. But if we can buy houses online, why the hell can't we buy them in single player? Not everyone is a online gamer. I personally hate online unless playing with friends. And only a couple of my friends actual play.

This game isn't over-hyped.

 

The game does have small issues like not enough police patrolling the streets and roads, and you only see the police mainly when they are chasing you or npcs, but overall the game is a damn masterpiece.

Everything people are moaning about is in online. Everything people are saying is missing is there, it just isn't in single player as they don't want you playing single player so they can just do dlc for GTAO. This helps when they bring on the inevitable cash shop for GTAO

This game was over hyped. But that's actually the reason for these complaints.

 

Everyone was expecting some kind of non-transient, eternal bliss experience of game. It's a f*cking AWESOME game. If you don't understand why then honestly you don't know gaming, you don't understand actual reality and you don't understand anything ever.

I think there is a difference between those who play games for their intended reason, and those who play them to escape from reality and aren't happy unless it is just 1 full simulation of another reality.

Well I played and finished GTA SA, 2 month ago and I had great fun, like the first time I played it. At the time of release, it was the most complete GTA ever with tons, and I mean tons of stuff to do.

I have spraypainted my games room with artwork from every entry from GTA series and I love em all in their own way but with every iteration they are losing features and replacing with crap like "tennis" ... I think they are losing it.

 

It may not be Saints row or Sleeping Dogs or even soon to release Watch dogs ,,, but just like how Sega and Nokia lost their way.. GTA will not be the KING of sand box open world crime games for much longer... IMO

Yeah you're right about the cops. They're way to hard to combat. I'll go into a cop fight and hide behind a bus with full armor and health and a cache of weapons that even scarface would sh*t himself and even with all that sh*t, i last around 1-2 mins if that. The cops are pretty much the same as IV except they're on insane difficulty. I do like the little view cone they have, but the fact that any citizen can get them on you instantly sux balls. I get that it's realistic but there's gotta be a point where to much real is no fun in a game. Plus this version of gta seems a lot more vanilla than previous versions. You can't rob a store, you can't do vigilante missions and you can't take passengers hostage in cars anymore. Pretty disappointed in this version to be honest.

Ah, it's good that for me there is not really a major negative thing about the game.. sure, there is a lack of enterable buildings, and the damage model may be a bit tweaked, also the cops seems too aggressive sometimes, you die too quick but overall it's basically a perfect game with all those features and gameplay and story. And it never gets boring.

 

Sucks to be you guys that always find something negative and turn the entire game around and say that it doesn't deserve 9 or 10 out of 10 points just because of something minor.. or apparently major thing for you.

 

In my opinion it beats IV in almost every single way and made it look bad.

Overhyped? A little.
A 10/10? No.

That being said, I've thoroughly enjoyed the hours I've already put into the game and can't wait for online to be released. I admit that there's not very much to do post-game, which sucks, but the ride to get there is a lot of fun.

My main issues:
1.) Nothing new post-game, really.
2.) Money is only acquired through real estate (which requires money to begin with), stocks (which, aside from a few certain missions, is near-random), and heists (of which there are INCREDIBLY few).
3.) Like I said, heists. There are so few! Why bother having characters gain "experience" if you can only use them for 1-2 of the heists? Why not throw in "event" heists where you get random calls asking if you want a heist? A dozen or two of those - repeatable - would've been awesome.

Minor issues:
1.) No gambling mini-games, at least for single-player. I want slots, I want cards - it's been done, it's not difficult.
2.) Police aggressiveness. Two stars, and they're risking life and limb to slam their cars into me. In past games, the star progression has been noticeable; here, not quite as much.
3.) Character physics. Anyone else jump at a wall and the animation not kick in? What happens? Your character slumps to the ground with a tiny bit of damage, like you made him body slam the wall which... well, you did.

The cops are cool and most of the time I love how they chase me. The cars drive pretty nice, I just wish there was a suspension and that certain cars didn't turn too fast. The graphics are MINDBLOWING! I mean man. The graphics scared me when I first played the game but now they look trailer quality. The detail is awesome. Go to Vespucci Beach and man. :chill: I mean f*ck I would chop a leg off to live there.
