WAY OVER HYPED 8/10 IF THAT.

VICE CITY IS STILL THE BEST OF THE SERIES.

 

The cops have ruined this game. I love the "Drive" style evasion but hate the free roam due to cops response time. I was down by Franklins joint with Trevor and this huge gang battle between latins and ballers went down on the free way, It was awesome, so I decided to get involved. Want to shoot one the Ballers with a silenced pistol? Too bad, cause the cops come and start shooting at me. BTW, not when I was in front the cops on scene, but they came right for me when i killed that guy, not when they came first and actually saw me do it. They came just for me, and were not even in the area to begin with WTF - poor poor poor coding.

 

Want to snipe some hiker on the top of a mountain near vinewood sign? Too bad, citizems report, 1 star.

 

Want to See what the firetrucks do? Okay, Lets drop a grenade. O well, cant even have time for them to respond becuase i goota get outta there so 2 starts worth of cops wont beat up on me. After I get through all the missions, they only way I will be able to play free roam is with wanted level cheats, to make the game fun. There's no funn crafty way to try things out anymore. It all ends in like 30 seconds with a crazy cop chase getting to 4 stars, which has grown stale.

 

I miss Vice City, when I could actually do a wheelie and see how long it lasted, or jump a mootorcycle and do some crazy ass stunt. Or go into a building that ment something. Remember how fun it was to take the chainsaw into the maill in Vice City? and have a shootout with the cops on the escelators?

 

This game is GREAT! , but yes it was overhyped. It doesnt get a 8/10 due to some mysongy bs, but it does for the general lack of creativity.

 

Speaking of creativity, GTA is at its best when it is doing a period peice. You could argue that it is V with the 21st century America, but it really shined when doing a satire of scarface. Yeah, in Vice city the map was smaller, but it had segments. you knew which parts to go into to get into a fight, or try crazy astunt. It was just fun.

 

And I have a right to complain. I bought the game. I pay taxes. I love Murica!

I agree that its over hyped. Clearly the gaming magazines were paid to put it at 10/10. There is literally nothing to do on this game that is fun. The weapon list is pretty shocking, the missions were mostly boring, the trains cannot be stolen, there's no snowy snow snow, no cool ass stuff like jetpacks, no cool unlockables for collecting 50/50 this or that. Just an alien laser gun would be an improvement! Something newwww!

I really wanted to get lost in the woods, but I knew where I was at all times due to the draw distance. A lot of stuff they said was in ISNT in. Changing plates? Nope.

Getting a wanted level when cops see you in a stolen vehicle? Nope.

Robbing ATMS? Nope.

Most interiors? 90% are mission based.

Planes? You can't even find a majority of them.

It's just a let down, but I have only myself to blame.

A majority of the map is mountain. Mount Chiliad alone is like 70% the area of LS.

Properties? They led us on by articles and a gameplay trailer.

The game's good, but not amazingly awesome.

In order to get access to buying property in Grand Theft Auto 5, you need to complete in-game missions.

 

Early official info tells us that there are 21 safe houses available for purchase in GTA 5, but apparently you can’t buy safehouses in the single player mode, but only in multiplayer.

 

That’s when the Dynasty 8 website will become live and active. Until then, you can buy property for huge chunks of cash and have them make more money for you.

The game is a fantastic one, it absolutely is. But I wouldn't say it deserved all of these perfect scores and I've had more fun even recently going back and playing other GTA's.

I think the cops kinda suck too. They are ridiculously easy to get away from most of the time but i miss how they used to just be driving and walking around and had to respond rather than the instant response time cause the spawn right there. doesnt give you much time to play around. I enjoyed finding them driving and bumping them to initiate a chase or running over a pedestrian cop. there are still some driving or parked in speed trap like locations, but i have yet to see one walking anywhere but by the police station.

I agree completely i mean there are sooo many parts of this game that are half baked, for example why is it that if i crash against a wall and my car blows up the cops automatically try to arrest me? Also why is it when i call Emergency Services the ambulance never get there and what is up with the businesses? they make barely any money and there isn't any way you can interact with them with the exception of Golf Resort and Cab Service you would think buying the scrap yard would mean you could work and make more profit... I hate the fact that everything is sooo scripted smh. I mean i like where they were going with this but it is just way over-hyped, Sad to say that a game from 2008 such as "Scarface - The World Is Yours" had wayyyy more features and ways of interacting with businesses, shops, cars than GTA 5 -.-

 

Also where are the lowriders? and what is up with the lack of vehicle customizations? If i purchase an Bentley from an dealership i would want to add skirts/spoilers/underglow/door styles/trim etc. But NOOOO you only get stuck between choosing the color/making it bulletproof and rim style, what a shame to say Saints Row 4 had more customizations than GTA did.

 

One last question, Why don't the Lamborghinis have actual vertical doors? smh

First off we as consumers have an right to complain about the game, Personally i wasn't expecting the game to be perfect however since it was marketed to us as an "revolutionary" "never before seen" type of game then i had some pretty high standards due to the hype, However after playing it for 12-hours a day since the midnight release all i have to say it is an big let down and R* bit more than they could chew.

 

Is the game great? Of course it is, Its the best game made so far... but there are sooo many things that need work and as i pointed out in many of my posts it is sad to see how they managed to screw up some of the simplest mechanics. As many members pointed out the vehicle damage is terrible, the business management sucks, the cops are insanely good and the car customization could've been more.

 

I'm bitching because i find it hard to believe that games from 2008-2010 and heck even GTA 4 had better much more realistic features & mechanics than GTA V. Also believe it or not it helps to bitch because R* actually do there research and visit active forums, just saying it can be helpful but if they didn't want us to bitch why would they try to hype-up an game thats so obviously half baked? just saying.

I agree mostly. It feels half done. Im hopeful the online part will have tons of content and fill in the blanks.

 

I have no problems getting away from cops, you just gotta have a fast vehicle or good stamina and outrun them, going around corners and out of their line of sight, then just look at the mini map for where they are looking and avoid those areas, super easy. if you try and go straight line they will get you because their cars have unlimited speed, you gotta lose them on corners or weave in and out of traffic making them crash. Their response time is pretty fast, but if you only have one star and a fast car you can easily leave before they get there as long as you dont run into one of them coming to you, check minimap.

All the sh*t you people cry about is idiotic. Brakes do light up. Maybe it's your tv? Cops do respond to stolen vehicles IF it's reported by other npc. No cops is going to know "hey that's not that dudes car" unless they run your plates. However; that be a tad overkill. I get away with shooting people in broad daylight and sometimes no cops show up. You have to understand - in this game people will call the cops in you!! Just like in real life. I told a lady "f*ck you bitch" and she said she is scared and calling the cops. I also had one lady think I was stalking her at night and ran off screaming and call the cops. Realism. Car damage is better. Idk what game these cry babies are playing. I've had my wheels fall off.. Front end so smash into the ground I could drive. Engine overheat , wheels all bent up or stuck in the axel etc. they have us a huge open world and ocean. GTAO isn't even out yet and they said that's what they focused on more than anything. Over 700 missions. Constant updates and missions being created/heist that we can make ourselves as well as R*. I could go on and on. R* didn't "pay off" all these game reviewers to give them great scores. Get your head out of your ass. If you don't like the game fine- not everyone will. However, the things you cry about are either so minuscule ( brake lights) or absolutely irrelevant.

gta 4 was better with the cops driving around and walking around, they would often see you commit the crime. those bastards were usually pulling up behind me from around the corner right when I was jacking a car, lol! there is not enough random police presence in gta 5, or the rate at which citizens report you is too low or something, most often you get away scott free. Its just not working out.

Lol somebody will always complain. This game deserves nothing less than a 10. You cry about the multiplayer but why would you buy an open world game like GTA to play online anyways? Vice City was great but it's time to get with the times now and enjoy the newer generation of gaming. GTA 4 was kind of garbage by itself the missions were boring. This is the most fun Grand Theft Auto game I have ever played. Overhyped.....? I don't drink your koolaide.
