Things suggesting it might be: http://www.cinemablend.com/games/GTA-5-Leaked-Xbox-360-Data-Reveals-PC-PS4-Build-Code-59102.html The fact that there is a huge pc petition and easy to port from PC to next gen. Playstation 4 Sony tweet my not have really been a typo. They found PC files and references in iFruit and again it is easy to port An analyst from gamespot thinks so Things Suggesting it might not: http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2013/sep/17/grand-theft-auto-5-gta-dan-houser-interview nitr0monkey

RichyB
It will come to next gen just as San Andreas was ported onto Xbox 360. Do you really think they'd spend 170 million making a game and not want to milk it for all the revenue they can? If you think not then you're frankly a cretin. Andreas
I don't think they named the multiplayer "GTA Online" for no reason. It's because the multiplayer is not only for GTAV; it will more than likely be involved in future GTAs as well. A next-gen version of V seems likely on the one hand. The game costed over $115 million in development plus $150 million for marketing, making it over $265 million for V in total. The Rockstar Advanced Game Engine matured a lot over the years, it's running properly on PC, and it is well optimized on all platforms. There will be most definitely a PC version, and given that there are barely differences in the architecture of the next-gen consoles when compared to the PC platform, it makes a next-gen version of Rockstars biggest game yet very possible. It would be easy to port V from PC to PS4 and Xbox One. Apparently, there is even code in the files of the game that contain settings such as Bokeh DoF, which is DirectX11-exclusive. Only a PC and next-gen consoles are capable of DX11. Zancudo
The lone fact that many major companies out there are porting their games to both current and next gen consoles makes it quite obvious that GTA V will come to PS4 and XONE eventually too. Hopefully it will be something more than just a 1080p-high-resolution-textures-higher-draw-distance-and-stuff kind of port. GTA V is a marvelous game but it's full of things that need to get fixed/changed.

Jack Parkinson
It doesnt make sense to release a game months before a next gen console and then not make it available.... but in saying that iv spoke to a few American buddies who are were waiting for PS4 to come out before buying GTAV and thy have been told by the guy in the gamestore that GTAV wont be released for PS4. But to me that just doesnt make sense.Guess we just have to wait and see
Scooter_Johnson
how many consoles will next gen sell ??? a few million not worth it as current gen outships them by a lot not a lot of people have the money to buy next gen consoles until after 12 months
Francis44
I think GTA V wont release for next gen. Anyway I believe there will be a PC port sooner or later. GTA V was expensive but so was GTA IV and they managed on 3 platforms, plus the game is already making huge profit. I do believe however we might see GTA Online being released digitally to download for free but with a paid subscription. Anyway sooner than later they will begin to discuss ideias for GTA VI, it will be much better to have a purpose built game for next gen than a port of V, which will always be limited in certain gameplay aspects do to early design choices, made for current gen. Proletariat
It will come to next gen just as San Andreas was ported onto Xbox 360. Do you really think they'd spend 170 million making a game and not want to milk it for all the revenue they can? If you think not then you're frankly a cretin. To be fair, they actually made nearly 4 times the money back on the first day. They've made so much money now in the first week that I doubt they are even considering going through the trouble of porting it to the next gen systems. I still believe Rocktar will release GTA V on the PC. I hope it's available only through Steam and not on disks. Who knows how badly third-world mindsetted boys will pirate the game. I just hope they limit piracy as much as possible.
Game512
Of course. GTA IV has great sales even in 2013. How you suppose to maintain those sales for GTA V when current generation of consoles will not be in demand in a year? And especially this is true for GTA Online. You can not rely on "the long term" of this project without next-gen cosoles Edited September 21, 2013 by Game512

TheDeaconBosco
GTA:O will eventually be ported to Next Gen if they want to make it what they want it to be. Which would mean to port most of GTA V's assets, once that's done they might as well port the rest from GTA V's Singleplayer while they're at it. Exitiumx
GTA V won't GTA Online may. R* has said Online will be going off in a different direction. Depending on how many new consoles are sold, and once they start going as mainstream (with the release of sh*t ton of games where people will be begging for) - they'll max out on what they can release on PS3/360, while supporting them for a little while and then focusing on adding looaaddss of new stuff to PS4/One. They've talked about adding new areas such as liberty city and more onto Online and I believe that can only be done with the new consoles. Especially if you want a chance at it seamlessly. Of course, with the expansion of fibre optic across the world + the consoles increasing their RAM, I think, give or take... maximum 64 players within one server? Who knows! Jabokabok
I can personally see them releasing a "greatest hits" variant of it, like how you could buy the collection of IV with LATD and BOGT but with respective DLC's easy way for them to make revenue, as they can advertise it with all the new "shiny things"
