I was so, so, SO, wrong about the size of Los Santos

Alright, so I've been putting in around 13/14 hours per day since puchasing this insane game at the midnight release, and all I can say is.....MIND F*CKING OFFICIALLY BLOWN!!!

Now, let's rewind time back to when the below screen was released...and the following sh*t-storm that ensued.

gta-v-franklin-michael-observatory-city.

My immediate reaction was.....

Massimo-DAlema.jpg?1317751303

I couldn't believe how small the city looked, and was very vocal about my shock and anger, as was many others on this forum. If I remember correctly, there was a 400 page long thread discussing how small the city looked, filled with battles and measurements between the "small city" crowd, and the "big city" crowd.

Fast forward to now, and boy, we couldn't have been more wrong. It's embarrassing actually. The city is absolutely MASSIVE, and even feels bigger than Liberty City in a way - something I would've never said this time a month ago.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is....I should have never not trusted R*, and feel like a bit of a c*nt for doing so.

Anyone else here made to eat their words? Come on now, come clean. There was ALOT of us here.

It's not just the fact that it is fairly big, it's the fact that every aspect feels somewhat unique. You never really get the copy-and-paste feeling driving around each area, which is what sets it apart from most similar games, even GTA IV.

13 hours per day? That is a bit too much lol

i thought that was lightweight compared to some of the people on here.

I'm just about on 13 hours a day at this point, had it since saturday.. slowing down though as I near the end.. I wanted to space it out.

Yeah, the city is absolutely incredible, I've completed the story twice, started again today, and I bought the brady guide because I genuinely thought there was no way I'd see everything in the map without it.

I've got nothing but respect for people, who have enough balls to come back and say they were wrong, even though my own opinion onto LS's size still differs (i'm not saying its small and that i'm not satisfied with it, i'm simply generally disagreeing that it feels bigger than GTAIV's LC, which you just said)!

While gta 4 may feel bigger because of the water, bridges, seperated islands etc. did anyone really spend time on the first and last island ? I only thought manhattan was interesting whereas every part of los santos feels unique and explorable.

It is a nice size, i've played 11hrs, 11:30hrs and 12:30 hours on each character.. so about a day and a half of playing.

I completed the whole story in 28 hours, so if you have been putting 13 hours a day in since Saturday, what the hell is wrong with you?

I've done 3 hours a day. Mainly cause I have a job.

I really get torn between exploring and doing missions. Tomorrow I'm gonna play most of the day though.

You're right, you are a c*nt. You too skorge you ruined it for yourself. Do you not free roam at all?

How do you know he didn't spend half of that time free roaming?

Official General

Lol @ OP

You're very late to the party mate. Most of us inital "Los Santos is big" doubters (including myself) admitted defeat when the very first official gameplay video was shown. The part with zoom-in/out camera on the satellite vision of the map already indicated to us that the city was very big.

Look on the main Los Santos size thread, doubters have long changed their minds about the size of LS.

Being broken into islands also makes Liberty City feel smaller, in a way. You feel more boxed in on islands and spend a lot of time crossing the same bridges. Having all the city in one area, there aren't the bottlenecks to get from one area to another. It feels more vast.

Exactly :^:

I've only done around 12 missions. Trying to take my time, and just do a bit of exploration.

I've not been on these forums much lately. My apologies chief. :colgate:

Brilliantly put.

LS may not actually be bigger than LC, but it definitely feels bigger imo.
