DryBomber5 Posted September 20, 2013 Share Posted September 20, 2013 I usually notice it during the day but whenever I'm driving, the FPS significally drops in the 20's. I have the xbox360 version and no I didn't install the "play" disc incase you're wondering. I've been browsing the forums and it seems some people are having the same issue and then there's people that are claiming to have no framerate issues at all? So wtf, are these people lying or is there something wrong with my xbox/monitor? I'm almost tempted to buy a PS3... So if you're experiencing no framerate drops (or barely any) what console do you have, how old is it, and do you use a tv/monitor? Heres my set up. Asus 25" monitor (1080p, 2ms response time, TN panel) Standard xbox 360 60gb (I've had it since dec 08) Things I've tried -Setting display to 720p (didn't make a difference at all) -Tried it on a 32" LCD sony HDTV as well as a 32" LCD samsung HDTV and looked worse I've yet to try installing the play disc to a USB flash drive but why the f*ck should I even have to do that? I should've known this game was too good to be true, man I hope they release it for xbox one or PS4, because this game is amazing but our systems can't handle it and R* should've known better, like wtf. harano 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But if you know that only 1% is going to bitch around about it it's worth the shot, right? 800 million dollars in 24 hours and only a few people complaining. What do you want more? As for the technical issue, I have the same problem (PS3) and yes, also I can not understand that other people don't have the problem at all. I guess they just don't mind. The game runs at 30 FPS. Now let me tell you, 30 FPS is fine and it runs smooth but fps as low as 20-24 is NOT 30. I already tried it on both of my Samsung 32 inch TV's. I guess we can't do nothing but send support tickets to Rockstar and even with doing that I don't really think they're going to care. The last hope I can have is for this game to come to next-gen. I remember in one of the trailers it said everything feels fluid and responsive, and I will say, compared to GTA 4, the game does feel smoother but that's not good enough, for me anyway. I was REALLY hoping the game would have a stable 28-30+ FPS, whether you're driving, flying a helicopter, shooting, cars exploding, whatever. So far, I've only noticed a drop in framerate when I'm driving, surprisingly when I'm flying a helicopter (haven't tried planes/jets yet) the framerate is really stable. One of my managers where I work has the game and same system as I do, and asked him about the framerate and he said he hasn't experienced any drop in framerate at all. I even asked him if he knew what framerate meant to be sure and he knew fully well what I was asking about. I specifically asked him if he notices it while hes driving in the city during the day and he said no... so I guess there's still hope? I mean, it seems silly that the performance would be any different on a newer console vs an older console but maybe it does make a difference? Has this been tested and can anyone confirm that playing a game (such as GTA 5) on a older console has the same exact performance if you played it on a more recent console? I wouldn't have posted this topic if the FPS was as bad as it is and I do honestly believe that if anyone was experiencing the drop in FPS to the extent that I am, they would be complaining about it as well. I also have a 46" samsung LED 3d 8000 series and its PATHETICALLY BAD on that tv. Stuttering all over the place. i was in shock. Lg tv is an 32LD320 full HD. Thats the one i use my consoles on and its perfect. I have posted pics in other threads and no jaggies at all. No fps drops either. The only problem i have had with the game is sometimes, i repeat sometimes, there is a volume drop on 1 of the chars if there are a few in a convesation. So if for example you're driving fast in the city (daytime, clear skies, sunny, etc) you don't notice any drop in framerate at all? I mean, I just find it hard to believe but I guess I'll take your word for it. I HOPE what you're telling me is true, because I'm willing to do anything to get this to work. One is a slim from 2012 and the other is a release day arcade with 20gig hard drive(only component connection) from 2005 and they both run fine on my lcd tvs. Only tested the slim on my LED and well... shocking to say the least. I also have a modded xbox elite ( the phat black one ) cant have an opinion on that one as i have an xkey on it and everything is run from a hard drive. DryBomber5 Posted September 21, 2013 Author Share Posted September 21, 2013 *UPDATE* So after "clearing the cache" on my xbox 360, I noticed a significant improvement in framerate. It still drops a bit when I'm driving through the city (day time only) but it's bearable, unlike before. The only issue I have now is pop ins, but my USB flash drive is on the way and installing the game on that supposedly fixes the pop in issue. I have an ASUS monitor (Asus VE258Q 25-Inch Full-HD LED-Lit LCD Monitor) and was wondering if you guys could help me with which settings to adjust?
