[REL/SA/CLEO] Y-Axis Sensitivity Fix

Y-Axis Sensitivity Fix

By Oksu

*****What is this?

San Andreas, among other III-era games has some poorly coded parts, and mouse sensitivity is one of them. Y-axis sensitivity is a constant value, while X-axis sensitivity can be adjusted from options. This makes the movement of mouse hard to control, as your mouse won't move vertically the same amount as it does horizontally. This small script re-writes Y-axis sensitivity to same value as X-axis sensitivity to fix this problem.

*****How to use this?

Just copy SensitivityFix.cs in your CLEO folder.

Yay! One of the most broken things in the 3d era GTA games was the Y-Axis being broken. SA was the only game left for a fix and finally someone made it!

Any advantages of using the asi over the cleo?

Except for the obvious fact of SAMP deleting cleos on some servers

Not really, my goal was to make support for GTA 3 and VC.

As ThirteenAG said, except that this would be a perfect chance of learning C++ to extend it to cover other executables of San Andreas. :)

Though, it's not an overnight thing and it'll take long time for me to get hang of this.

Mmh to be honest I've never installed a mod or something so I must be doing something wrong, I downloaded Sanny Builder 3 V.3.2.1 and CLEO auto-instaler for Vice City V.1.1.1.6 I'm thinking that maybe that version of CLEO is too old? I need help :/

Well, cleo doesn't work with steam exe, but more important than that, script from first post for san andreas. You should use asi version from post #5.

And CLEO 1.1.1.6 is indeed outdated ;)

I made a little present for you :)

https://github.com/ThirteenAG/Y-Axis_Sensitivity_Fix_gta3vcsa/blob/master/Y-Axis_Sensitivity_Fix_gta3vcsa/dllmain.cpp

Feel free to use it, i don't have any GTA SA exes > 1.0, so there is no support for them.

a blast from the past - I was looking for the Y axis fix for a while until I came across this little piece of gem just now.

You Sir, ROCK. :beerhat:

Thank you!!!

Okay, this is driving me insane. I've been trying to install this, because it's just what I need, but instructions are very vague when it comes to things like CLEO and ASI. Apparently CLEO doesn't work with Steam or something? I installed CLEO library, and copied over the .cs file, but then the game crashes as I load. Your ASI alternative I don't know what to do with or how to install, to me it looks just like a source. All I want is to have this installed, and I made an account solely for this purpose. Can anyone just give clear instructions?

I use Steam.

Thanks. Only problem is it takes ages to download because of Chome and/or server clogging, but I guess I'm in no right to complain. I will get back when it is finished downloading.

EDIT: Finished downloading, downgraded and it works great now! Thanks!

I would love it if someone, explained exactly, step by step, how to install this. I have no idea which files to put where, do I put them in my CLEO directory, or whatever. Obviously, I am very new to modding GTA games :panic: . Any help would be much appreciated.

is it available as an asi?

I uploaded it: https://github.com/ThirteenAG/Y-Axis_Sensitivity_Fix_gta3vcsa/releases/tag/v1.0

404 Page not found

+ and the other Y-Axis Sensitivity Fix on this page:

http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=24929

gives me the popular unhandled Exception error -.- So I would be glad to see the asi file again to see, if it works, can anyone upload it?

1 - make sure you got a 1.0 exe

2 - download asi loader

3 - download silentpatch

4 - put both asi loader and silentpatch in the same folder that contains the said exe

5 - start the game

6 - we're not sure what happens next, most likely silent take over your pc remotely and use it for bitcoin mining

7 - you're done, congrats!
