OMG I am so sick and tired of his hot, loud, whore wife, his whore daughter, and his fat ass, sneaky, whiny Call of Duty playing turd of a son.

 

Every time I switch to Michael I have to endure a bout of his dreadful family. The only things they say are, "Michael, you're a lunatic! You've ruined my life!" right after they've done something stupid like stealing his sh*t and then getting caught up with a bunch of thugs that he has to save from them. So pathetic.

 

I wished Rockstar would allow me to use my .50 cal suppressed pistol to their heads (after I give the cheating slut Amanda one last good f*ck) so that I can continue robbing liquor stores in peace without the agony of those extremely hypocritical cretins.

His family is pathetic. I'm genuinely surprised he hasn't ate a bullet. His wife, and his little wannabe devil spawns are an embarrassment. I wish I had the option to kill the three of them.

 

I don't mind playing with a character who deals with family issues, but when some of the major missions are constantly dealing with annoying and unlikeable characters, it kinda turns me off.

 

That said, I still love the game but f*ck, his family sucks.

If I had to choose who were more annoying, I'd say Michael's family. Surprisingly I could deal with Roman because he was just a stupid, silly idiot. Michael's family purposely drives him mentally insane and then wonder why he's so doped up and drunk half the time. If I were Michael in real life, I'd have wiped my hands clean from them. I would've gotten a new identity to start over by myself, or I would kill them then commit suicide. No way could I be with losers like them on a daily basis without passing out.

I do agree with OT. I think they introduced a family for a protagonist to add depth into the life of Michael. And yes, I'll admit, I've tried many times to kill his family in-game. You can easily do this in Reuniting the Family. Lots of fun.

Michael and his family do infact seem to be based off of Tony Soprano and his family, but I've always seen Michael as just a slightly more badass, criminal version of Lester Burnham from American Beauty. (great film) Except, Mike isn't killed by a self hating gay person at the end of GTA V.

 

I mean, think about it. His family is in shambles and hates him so he embarks on a farce to obtain meaning in his life and recapture his youth. He is surrounded by the ridiculous Western notion of beauty and worth, (superficial Los Santos) and most people he knows are either incredibly shallow or deeply insecure. At the end of both, our main character finally sees a glimpse of happiness or satisfaction.

If you pick ending B, they are almost entirely parallel. Both characters finally achieve a sense of happiness before their life is cut short.

I can't say about Amanda. She has her personal reasons to dislike Michael, one being his deranged state. The children, they'r not ungrateful. Spoilt, yes they are. Lack of proper parental guidrance is what made them like that.
