In Tlad they made us kidnap Roman and they made Niko kill three members of the lost and I never heard anybody complaining so even though I liked TLAD it doesn't stop me from enjoying playing as Trevor. Also that mission in TLAD was as immature as anything in V with Roman pooping his pants. Poop jokes are considered the lowest of the low brow.

everyone complained of the dark vibe, the car handling and seriousness of the history, i pride myself of being one of the longest lurkers in this site and the hate IV got in here was outrageous, not only in here but all over the place, in youtube comments R* site ,everywhere.

V tried to fix what waesn't broken just because the majority complained, because most gamers hate complicated gameplay, because they prefer simplified gameplay over a rewarding sistem,they hate things that require a learning curve, they prefer a funny uncomplicated history over serious story telling so that's why V has such a simplified gameplay.

they have released like 9 sh*ttty FREE DLCs,please tell me what other company makes that?

don't tell they don't listen to his fanbase, they are just no hearing to us, we are the minority here, that's why this section is so dead and V has more transit than Star Junction.

yes, i know that online gets the best stuff while sp gets dick in the mouth, but sadly the biggest fanbase is there, the least we can hope is they get back on track by the next title.

Exactly. I am not saying people need to love V because I know we will never agree on that but instead of blaming R at least blame the fans for forcing their hand. They listened to fans a bit too much actually.

 

That is why I loved it when during the heists trailer they outright said people weren't ready. Yeah it was snarky but I hope it shows that R is back to doing what they want how they want it. That is when they make their best work. Trying to placate the naysayers never works because they will just complain about something else.

If anyone has six hours to read my Identity Crisis post rant-thingie, you'll realize we hate Trevor for a thousand more reasons than killing off The Lost.

You sure have some of the best topics on GTAF. I hope someone from R* scoped it out a little so they could get the idea what mistake they did with Trevor`s character overrwiting in V.

I didn`t read whole of it but a good part. I feel the same in many points. Killing Johnny and wiping out The Lost was indeed the bigest flaw but it isn`t the only thing that brings down V`s story/characters ratings.

 

I`ve wrote this a couple of times already so i`ll make it in short one more time.

Rockstar went too far with Trevor`s character. They overdid his personal characteristics few steps too far, to the point where he`s not to be taken seriously anymore, he`s not to be count as a protagonist at all. He is too cartoonized, he defines so many different characteristics combined into one person that it is almost impossible for the gamer to get even the slightest illusion.

 

Overreacted character development that went into the wrong direction. I can`t take seriously the guy who`s talking to his own shoe, who`s giving Michael a hard time for smoking cigaretes while he smokes meth at the same time, i also can`t take seriously the guy who can somehow fly aircrafts perfectly, despite him being high on meth most of the time, the guy who is killing the hitchikers and feeding them to the Altruisters, the guy who sexually abuses grown man, the guy who has a hard on for older women and who cries like a little puppy because his own hostage under the influence of Stockholm sindrome has to abandon him and return to her husband.

The guy who is supposely a cannibal and a succesfull carreer criminal, the guy who kills people and do funny things to their corpses only because he`s being called a Canadian or motherf*cker..

 

How the hell can i even identify with such cartoonized character let alone simphatize with him like i could with Niko, Michael and Johnny? Is this the person who makes any sense at all? Even the most f*cked up person with 100 different split personalities on this planet hasn`t half of Trevor`s characteristics.

 

And Trevor is supposed to be scary? Come on R*, what the hell were you thinking.

 

Trevor is way over the top. maybe this is rockstar's way of balancing things out? given the nature of the previous GTA being all serious and realistic and stuff. who knows, maybe its just sh*tty writing.

Actually the serious nature of IV was sort of a departure for the series. SA was way more over the top and cheesy than V.

Plus, all that happened before TLAD was released. Roman was kidnapped by bikers, and Niko was just doing what he was told.

 

On a side note: Johnny has f*cking terrible taste in women. TERRIBLE! Of all the women he picks the ugliest and sh*ttiest in the club (Ashley, and as shown in a cutscene the girl he pushes away probably being Leila). In the clubhouse, on the entrance of the TV/computer room, there is a picture with a beautiful woman with big titties, and Johnny isn't with her. Or even the beautiful dancers! I mean seriously! I'll take a screenshot.

You are right, poop jokes are very immature. But that´s not the point, because Roman didn´t poop his pants...he pissed his pants. When Johnny and Malc deliver Roman to the russians, Johnny says: "Sombody looking for a fat slav with a bladder problem?"

 

And who says it was only for the joke? It´s more likely a man will piss his pants then sh*t his pants, when he is as frightened as Roman was in this situation.
