As sad as it is, IV is still a black sheep of the franchise. The sentiment on the internet is overwhelmingly negative and with Rockstar their full appeasement mode, we should be happy they aren't completely cr_pping all over the game. At least Niko got off pretty lightly.

 

Rockstar are desperate to be "the one and only" in the sandbox pond again, even if it means forgetting IV even existed at best, dancing on its corpse at worst. Rise of Saints Row, Just Cause and other games must have really hurt their pride. It's an immature behavior. I mean, even Ubisoft and Volition not only acknowledge their controversial titles (AC III, SR:TT), but build on them and show some pride about them. And both of those games were far more flawed than IV. But nooo, if Rockstar isn't at the top of a pile for once, it means they must burn all bridges.

During the San Andreas days they really were the undisputed kings of the video game world. During the IV as great as it was the mainstream was starting to turn away from them and that backlash probably shook them to the core. IV was the first GTA to receive that kind of backlash and that is something they never faced before so they went into pandering mode. As much I do love and defend V you can tell the difference parts of the game that are pandering and parts they genuinely wanted to do. It worked also. As divided as opinion is on V it is pretty much the commercial king of gaming right now. It actually knocked COD off it's perch which was something. Hopefully VI will be a happy medium.

I doubt that many +25 yrs old people find Trevor`s humor funny. It`s just too imature and silly.

 

Michael on the other hand has good sense of humor and his sarcasm is really the best, that`s why he is my No. 1 protagonist.

Johnny's death did teach me something, we can use that scenario against them, not just the killing, but Trevor confronting Terry and Clay...

 

For example, a small gathering of GTA fans are talking about GTA 6, and they ask one of the members of the group when he thinks the game is coming out, and all of a sudden he lifts his boot up, reveals a piece of brain, and says:

"I don'nt know, why don't you ask Mr. Houser here, 'So Mr. Houser when is GTA 6 coming out? What's that, oh you don't know...And why was GTA 5 so f*cking sh*tty? Oh you don't know...And why did you analy rape us by killing of Johnny K? Oh you don't know? Did I cum blood on your corpse? You don't remember? Maybe? Possibly? Johnny K was a sacrificial lamb?
