The cars handle damage like tanks. It immediately draws you away from the game and removes immersion.

Do you think that Rockstar should patch it? If they let us decide, would you want to, or would you not want to?

No, I think the damage model is great, and the driving is extremely fun. No change needed.

not handling, people... the damage physics... there is a huge difference between the two.

The damage is still great. Except now your car does not get dents. Its like they are made out of concrete.

so far I'm happy with the damage. Had some lovely dents & scratches to full on wrecks, all in ways you'd expect.

Yup, they should. For me it's the one and only disappointing thing about the game so far. It's unfortunately very much a step back from the damage modelling in IV.

Lol @ "immersion" holy sh*t guys I have a real life, when I'm playing gta I want to play a video game... Not real life. Pretty sure none of us would do anything in real life that we do in gta.

We all have real lives. It doesn't change anything. Would you like to see cars actually get damaged like in all past GTA games? Or would you rather settle with boring, tank like cars that you see in arcade games?

The question is simple. Has nothing to do with "having a life" (which I've always believed to be a phrase used primarily by people who don't have lives).

Funny assumption.. Anyway to respond to your question, I don't have the same opinion as you. I don't feel the cars are tank like at all... They may be a little tougher than in real life but to be honest I'd rather my car not blow up all the time anyways.

You get what you get, don't throw a f*cking fit.

The car damage is better than 4's, but it takes way too long to develop. A crash at 100 km/h+ should completely total the car. They should just patch a 40 km/h crash to mimic that of a 100 km/h crash as it is currently, and so on, and the game should be sweet.

How is that even remotely "great"?

With all the game offers, car damage is the key point of complaint. I am bemused.

I am losing panels, doors, busting axles and all kinds of sh1t when I drive. I am messing my vehicle up to the point that wheels lock up and impact on handling...Yet the vehicles are strong enough for me to really explore the game and have sum insane FUN with.

What more do you want from a game?????

NEXT!

I love the handling but the damage is almost non existent. I slammed into a truck head on and only smashed headlights ! The damage is there but it's inconsistent. Sometimes you can wreck a car other times there's hardly any damage at all from major collisions .

I like it. Needs more consistency but I enjoy driving my car dent free for more than 30 seconds unlike some people here.

Car damage is the one thing I would change, basically just make your care take a bit more damage, I honestly like that they are more resistant than in 4, but not this resistant, they should only be as strong as they are now after you upgrade with armor

I don't really have any problems with it. It's not 100% OMG REAL LIFE but I've gotten in more crashes that outright disabled the car than I ever did in GTA IV and I played a LOT of GTA IV. So, yeah... maybe something they can improve on for next gen.
