Mr. Rocko
IV was an uninspired, bland mess. V truly feels like something else and a return to old form. Trying to discredit games with vague terms like "magic", "soul" or "atmosphere" just shows that you have no arguments. Maybe you just have nostalgic feelings for IV, ever thought about that. As it stands right now, V is by far the best GTA there ever was. thats why i chose vc over 3 and iv. 3 was bland, so was iv more so. Vice City had a great atmosphere. That's it. The gameplay and story were atrocious compared to GTAIII and GTAIV. Thank you, GTA III was better.

saksoka
When you got haters hating at this kind of rate, you know you're doing something right. R* doing it big. Fanboys of other franchises are jealous and want to try and downplay it as much as possible. People know with the release of V, sleeping dogs and Ghosts are going to flop. Wouldn't doubt these people are paid shills by these rival companies to turn some people off to the game in hopes they'll go out and buy something else. R* making other companies and fans dead desperate. I hope your games flop too because GTA already cashed in. Nothing you all can do to phase them now, keep hatin. THIS haters are very depressed because of this masterpiece , when you see a lot of haters create an account and act like disappointed fans you know this game is f*cking beast Edited September 18, 2013 by saksoka

assmillk
I got the game a few hours ago. I can honestly say its the best gta and game ever. It baffles me how anyone could prefer iv driving over this. The whole game is beautiful and so diverse. I'm sorry but this is just the perfect gaming experience. neo92boi
GTA IV was the GTA that appealed to people who didn't like GTA magic. THIS OUT THE f*ckIN ASS! GTA IV is actually the GTA that didnt have the magic. GTA V has the most magic Ive ever felt in any GTA and I havent even gotten to Blaine County yet.. Aww that first mission with Michael abd Lester!...

KillEmAll
GTAV just didnt bring much new to the table. Its a fantastic game in own right, but they didnt try to really push the bar. This could very well because of the aging consoles so Ill let it go. But GTA VI needs much more to impress me. And that means lots and lots of interiors and please bring back some form of the gang wars. I loved that concept so much.
--Vega--
It's a lot better than IV which is the worst one in my opinion, but yeah, ones like San Andreas still completely beat this one, even with the worse graphics.
Algonquin Assassin
GTA IV was the GTA that appealed to people who didn't like GTA magic. I'm one of the biggest GTA IV fans on here. Are you saying I don't like GTA "magic"? Some of you really need to accept that not everyone hated GTA IV. Hang on it's been the case for over 5 years now. 98 in 1
Criminal
Interesting. As someone who's been a fan of GTA since III, I consider IV the low point of the series and I think that's a commonly held belief. You talk about freedom when it offers the least amount, barring maybe III (but considering time and place, IV was a huge step backwards in open world freedom). I haven't played V yet, waiting on Amazon to ship it to me, but from everything I've seen it looks to be a return to form. I think the guys at Rockstar heard the complaints loud and clear. It looks great, the magic of GTA is back for the first time in 9 years. Edited September 18, 2013 by Criminal
Krist075
It´s the opposite. V brings back that magic that Vice city and San Andreas had. IV was a great game but it was much more different and darker compared to other gta games.
ian2562
V is not revolutionary...its just a big map which includes things we already done before GTA III was revolutionary Vice City was unique because of the amazing setting..music..atmosphere San andreas revolutionary because of the size and things to do GTA IV revolutionary because of the new system on new consoles GTA V..??? GTA V because of GTA Online maybe? Edited September 18, 2013 by ian2562

Criminal
so you guys rather have freedom to get out and roam around over realism ...yes.... I play video games for escapism. Do you want to fill up gas in your GTA game, go to class, or take one bullet and die from it? Because that's what realism is, and it's not fun in a video game. brOkeRxBoYxLC
i know how you feel. BUT, this one is dynamic in its own way. just a few tweaks like the car handling, and this game will be even more amazing. liberty city will always be my number one, it was so New York.. Sometimes size doesnt matter, actually size could be the downfall.. when something like a map is too big, you get overwhelmed, causing you to not pay attention to the detail. Liberty city wasnt Huge but def wasnt small.. in my opinion it was just right.. imagine this... Liberty City with all of the extra-curricular activities in GTA V... and a slightly bigger map... now THAT would be the BEST game to ever be created. GlitzyTomb
I, too, have played every GTA since III, and I have to say that V is a high point, if not the highest point. Honestly, haven't even seen Trevor except in the prologue, and I'm just enthralled with the possibilities, things to see and do, and people I might meet. V has the freedom of SA, the uniqueness of III, the spirit of VC, and more memorable characters than IV ever could hope to dream of having. You've got to be joking (and this must be your first GTA) to say that IV was more open. IV was hyper-realistic in feel, but not in "how you could fly off bikes and car damage". Have you ever seen an accident below 50 mph? I have and unless there's some extenuating circumstances, this is faaaaaar more accurate than IV. IV annoyed me in multiple ways and had a lot of hindering qualities whereas V was made to be FUN. If you're not having it, return your game, because you don't deserve this work of art. Let it belong to a kid who will appreciate his first real GTA and put a preorder on COD so I never have to see you again. Thanks. Anyone who disagrees with anyone about anything...automatically a giant COD fanboy.
GTAFever123
You can still have escapism with better physics and realism, especially if it means having more fun.

Malndor
Like I told people before. GTA V has got the same hype train as skyrim, but has been screwed over like Bethesda bit PC Gamers on the ass and turned Elder Scrolls series into a Console port. There was shock, bewilderment and let down. Same is happening with GTA V and why? Here's your answer. http://gtaforums.com/topic/594997-dlc-hints-found-at-ammu-nation/ Read it all, you'll understand. Chunkyluva53
The things I miss from IV are not being able to cause big shoot outs between security guards and cops. Those were hilarious. If you piss off a security guard now you just get a wanted level and the cops don't attack them. And not being able to shoot up the strip clubs or gun shops. Oh well. Still an amazing game.
