leob223
I thought I just had to get used to the low FPS cause I normally play games on PC, but I know now there's definitely something wrong with my performance. The game is really slow when I'm driving downtown, I just went on Youtube and watched gameplay videos and their FPS looks twice as good as mine I downloaded the game off PSN but I don't know if that has anything to do with it cause I heard some people are having issue with the disc version too. I have a 120GB slim PS3 and I was just playing Battlefield 3 a few weeks ago on it with no issues. I've hardly used this console and it's in excellent shape so I know it's not my system's fault Also I should point out the game seems to only run poorly during the daytime in downtown areas. At nighttime or in the early morning it seems a lot better Edited September 17, 2013 by leob223
Jormatapio
I have the exactly same problem! I have the disc version of the game. And i have the 500gb Slim version bought this year so its not old or dusty. And it also has more than 450gb free space. If anyone could tell whats wrong it would be so great! Cannot play the game because the lagging is so annoying! (ps sorry english) Edited September 17, 2013 by Jormatapio
zzashzz
This might be at a bit late, but I was getting a very low fps so I rebuilt the database and restored the file system on my ps3 (if you don't know what this is then google it, it is easy to do and doesn't delete your data) and it fixed the issue for me and I was getting a nice smooth fps. But then the next day the low fps returns, so I rebuilt & restored again and it was smooth. So, for me at least, the fix seems to be rebuilding database and restoring file system before each time I play. i have no idea why but this just works for me. blood_hound
I do get some FPS downs in some parts of the game but the lowest would be 23 ~ 25 but i don't seem to have this kind of issue, I bought my ps3 slim 160gb (not the super slim) a year and 7 months ago and it seems to be working fine, my guess is that it's either the disc or the ps3 I think you should report it to rockstar or have it tested on where you bought the game

Try something for me, during the day when it's sunny, drive a fast car through the city/county and you SHOULD notice a drop in framerate. Don't just look at your car or what's ahead, look at everything you pass by and you should notice the graphics have a hard time to keep up. I'm sorry I don't know how else to explain it but it's not that hard to spot. I'm not calling you a liar, I hope you're right but I just have a hard time believing you. I went out and bought the ps3 GTA 5 bundle today (needed a new system) and still have FPS drops. What tv/monitor do you have?
R.R
^^ You're describing texture pop-in, not a drop in FPS.
DryBomber5
^^ You're describing texture pop-in, not a drop in FPS. Well that too I noticed but the way the game processes the graphics (the framerate) is definitely what I'm talking about, NOT popins.
customkingpimp
I am playing on ps3, and I dont really have texture popins (couple here and there) and the FPS are amazing. But then again, I am on a system I got in the early spring, and was only used for about 20 hours.
