Cars not saving?

Haven't checked, haven't saved any cars, I keep trashing them all.

I've played close to 16 hrs so far and I haven't had that problem once.

Just lost a tricked out Sandking XL outside michaels house.. was pulling a Mustang clone out of the garage to make room for it, turn around for a second, and it's gone.

It's a bug. They will surely patch it.

I modded michaels default car and saved it and it vanished. Later i switched to him after a franklin mission and he was chilling on the pier with his car parked behind him exactly how i modded it.

 

Dont know if its a glitch that it disappears or if his family borrows it and returns it later. Either way its annoying.

Same problem here, spent over $160,000 on two cars even bought a garage for them and after taking them to a mission, not in impound, not in garage, not on the street where I left it, just $$$$$ down the drain.

I had my car disappear and I can't access the impound either, the icon has completely going off the map!

I noticed something: take a car to a mission, and it might disapear. It happened to me, when i was playing as franklin, cruising with chop. I started a mission, chop stayed in the car, and after the cutscene was over, i go out and the car and chop are missing. Chop went home but the car vanished

I have noticed that in trevors case if you park in the city safe house his cars are actually parked just across the street in a parking lot when you go look for them. On the other hand I parked a car in mikes garage and now the door will no longer open. I entered from inside the house and the garage is empty and still wont open. All of his cars have disappeared.

 

Nix that Trevors cars are gone now.

 

By the way the game manual clearly states "Once a character has customized a car, he will take ownership of it."

 

Dont even start with what a pain it was to get a game manual. Android users get bent over again.

Not related to your question, but a glitch occurred for me at Franklin's crib where a car was on top of the exact same car in his garage, like it had duplicated the same car in the garage, hope this doesn't happen often.

 

this has happened to me also, was not ontop of the car but squished in next to it in the garage. I took one car and drove it away fron Franklins house... it appeared again, the second time I tried this it seemed to fix it though.

It happened with his default car, since fixing this it hasnt happened again but I have noticed that sometimes the car isnt there... even if I havnt taken it out - but then it reappears after I 'sleep'

Same here. I bought the Bugatti looking car of the legendarycars website. Costed me a million dollars, it got delivered to the garage. I drove it to Los Santos Customs and done it up fully then took it back to the garage. After saving my game i Turned my xbox off. When i turned it back on the car was not in the BOUGHT garage and i didn't have my one million dollars back. This has happend a lot when saving a done up car with Franklin. The car just dissappears.

Same thing happened to me as well. Stored a car in Franklin's garage and saved my game. This moring after getting home from work and turning the game on the, car was gone. No matter how many saves I checked it was not there. Nor was it at the impound. So I got fed up and turned the game off, system and all. Hour later decided to play again and what do you know, there was my car in Franklin's garage. Clearly this is a bug in the game that needs fixing before GTA Online goes live.

Sometimes people steal your cars. I've seen it happen to me twice. People walk up to them jack up the door hop in and drive off. I've only stopped it once because I didn't think he was really going to steal it. 2nd time around I put a bullet in him.

 

But yeah. I've bought the same cars over a dozen times because they rarely if ever save.

I have found that if you change the number plate on the car to your personal plate (through the app), then that car is yours for good. It will either stay where it was parked, show up at the house, or get impounded.

I bought a Cognoscenti Cabrio, modded it etc. I decided to see what happened if I just left it in the street and turned my console off - it got impounded.

 

I then took it to a mission, failed the mission, retried the mission, passed it but then my Cabrio was gone. Not in garage or impound. Have not bought another car since. What's the point?

 

Hope they patch this.

I own an older model iPod touch (3rd gen) which won't run the app because the ios is too old, and I have no plan to buy a smartphone. So I can't have a personal plate, or teach chop tricks. What the f*ck are you thinking R*?

On the plus side, looks like I have an excuse to buy a new iPod.

Bullsh*t. I bought a dodge challanger look alike and a bati custom bike, pimped them up, put them in the garage ( on separate occassions, so dont say they dispaeared cuz u had 2 vehicles in the garage) and wen i came back hours later, *poof* magically disappeared from franklins garage. The car saving and impound system is flawed. Neither of these cars and many others ive customized save or report to the impound lot, what a waste of pretend cash.

I think I know why they disappear though! Remember the characters live out their lives when you're not using them so maybe they take the car somewhere and abondon it which is why you never get it back!

God forbid rockstar reads this, or they might use that as an excuse to justify the dissapearing cars GLITCH/BUG.

Each character has perma-vehicles that require NO saving on your part; it mentions it all more or less in the early game tips , Franklin's White buffalo And green bike, Trevors Truck, and Michaels Obey Tailgater "and Maybe the wifes red car as it shows up off and on with the horn I changed, they are the smartest to customize in my experience as the rest of my Personally saved home garage cars continue to disappear<(not cool).

 

My advice is to use the separate character-color matching garages you are granted as I haven't run into any problems with them,..currently omw to check again but I'm confident they work Great. I made A lot of changes to Michaels Obey and I treat it the same way he treats his family, I make no efforts to keep tabs but its always back at the house.

 

p.s Just hit Save and try some things people, be attentive.

The cars aren't saving, you put them in the Home Garages, save or don't save,they still disappear, I notice when I load up my Saves with Saved Cars and they aren't Saved, thus proving they no longer Exist When They Should, Also During Game Play saving should be Irrelevant, as its common gta knowledge up until now, you put a car in a garage..and unless you turn the game off without saving, your car should be there the whole time or there would have been no purpose in putting it in the garage. The "Hard" save interior garages are working, in my experience, the Home garages are not...very often.
