AlexL
I got the 40gb version and I'm trying to download GTA 5 which needs around 36gb for the download/install. My problem is that after a quick format I only have 31gb free space, would a full format give me more than 31gb?

A full format would eradicate everything on the HDD -- including saves, trophies, etc. If this isn't important to you, then by all means, re-format your hard drive. If it is, try deleting games installed to the HDD that you no longer play nor care to ever play again. Enjoy the game!

I got the save files backed up on a memory stick, as for the trophies they wouldn't be a big problem. Thanks

Tried a full format and still couldn't free up more than 31gb, I just wasted 2 hours and 38 minutes. Edited September 19, 2013 by AlexL
Python Regius
You can buy a hard drive for your ps3. Amazon has a good guide on their website: http://www.amazon.com/gp/richpub/syltguides/fullview/R3J292OYJK7HAF

Time to start digging through old laptops. my Blu-ray disc drive stopped working. The only reason I went for the Digital Download.
TheDeadlyRecon
Ya i had the same problem and I am probably gonna purchase a hard drive I found on amazon its a great price, good reviews. Here is a link http://www.amazon.com/120GB-Drive-Western-Digital-WD1200BEVS/dp/B004PJPMBO Its 120 gbs. The ps3 hard drives are 2.5 sata 5400 rpm hard drives so if you would like a bigger one make sure it meets these specs. Hope this helped
zain1291
Buy a disk, my suggestion. Digital has a little more issues with textures as well. You can youtube the comparison video. Also, I don't know why I did this.. but I bought the game digital on PSN and the next day I got the disk too. I can really tell the difference with texture pop ins when switching characters, a little more jaggy lines etc etc.. It may or may not be the case with you guys. Thanks for the heads up, I've noticed that the disk version runs much better than the digital one... Just ordered a physical copy on thursday, should arrive tommorow.
