You can't leave the engine running now. And you can't leave the door open. Or is it just me does anyone figured this out?

well you wanted realism? you wouldnt leave ur engine on now would you lol..

Well, I would in real life if I was jacking a mini-mart....but, it seems to not add anytime to start the cars up in GTAV, so this is a non-issue.

Just press triangle, or the Xbox equivalent to that? As for the door open thing, do you move the left analog stick when you get out?

This is so minor that it barely qualifies as a complaint, but I do miss some of the little details that GTAIV had...

yeah i know that's how you did it in IV right. but doesn't work this time.

another missing thing: you could quicken the hot wiring proccess by tapping accelerate or brake/reverse. you can't touch it this time and especially michael does it pretty slowly.

Let's say, almost everything in GTA V is better than in GTA IV.

But this is one thing that GTA IV makes better..

Let's compare again: (xbox)

GTA SA:

press Y - engine running, and you can leave door open if you move straight after.

hold Y - exactly same as ^

GTA IV

press Y - Engine running, you can hear radio from the car

hold Y - Engine turn off, also the radio.

GTA V

press Y - Engine turn off, also the radio, also the door even you walks straight after.

hold Y - exaclty same

So why did they change this?

Don't fix things that are not broken.. sighs.

Whatever, very good game anyways.

its possible I just did it 5 minutes ago by accident. (And no, I didnt jump out of a moving car)

I just did it again a second ago, let me figure out the button combo and I'll get it to you guys.

edit: cant recreate it. damnit. :(

The Buddha Bear

To leave the door open when getting out, press triangle (or Y on 360) to exit, then hold the run button while pressing the left stick in a direction as you get out.

EDIT: All you have to do is hold the run button while exiting the car to not close the door after getting out. As for leaving the engine running, I have no idea.

I managed to keep my door open, just walk away when the door has opened.

It was really stupid for R* to do that. I miss leaving my engine on when getting out of the car.

I was playing IV today and there are so many other fun little things like this in that game that V left. Like others said you can leave the door open, but to leave the engine running, you have to dive out of the car while it's moving or stop car, get out, shoot a gun, get back in and out real quick. Of course neither of those are as seamless as it was in IV
