To install disk 2 you have to go through some XBOX menus and do it manually. You are safe. If R* told us NOT to install disk 2 then their own loader is not going to install it, is it. The reason for not installing disk 2 is, having data from disk 1 on the hard drive and more data on disk 2 in the optical drive allows the game to read in data from both devices at one at a higher speed than if it were reading 100% from the hard disk. Even though the hard drive is faster than the optical drive, its not as fast as using both at the same time and the game really needs this extra bandwidth.
