stobe187 Posted September 17, 2013 Share Posted September 17, 2013 Compare the driving speeds of San Andreas and GTA V and you'll quickly come to the realization that you only remember the SA map to be HUGE, even tho in reality it's not even that big. The super sh*tty (old tech) drawing distance was a good tool to mask the relative scarceness of the map. Not hating on SA tho, it's a superb game. Sure, it isn't "seven times the size of every Rockstar game ever made combined," but it's still large enough. They may have exaggerated before release, but I'm still happy with the final product. cheetah_7 Posted September 17, 2013 Share Posted September 17, 2013 The overall map isn't quite as big as imagined, and you can get round it quite quickly. But it is still massive, and AMAZING. I am also slightly annoyed at the size of Los Santos itself. You can get from venice beach to the Hollywood hills in the blink of an eye. It doesn't quite feel like LA, like IV's Liberty City felt like New York. (but I suppose this was to be expected when they were combining city and countryside). Sure if you had a Hydra you could get across the map in no time and cause tons of pop in, but just driving down the highways did take a while.
