Gnocchi Flip Flops
Why not add in a 'hardcore' driving option, so people that prefer IV driving can use that, and people that prefer V can use the normal version.. everybody's happy. TDU 1 implemented this.
OatMuffin
I think the driving is awesome in V. It's just so fun to be able to going weaving through traffic and drift corners with ease. Especially with Franklins special ability. I also really liked IV's driving.
LAPD 85
I just got the game, and the driving in this game is truly awesome. Please, Rockstar, don't patch the driving mechanics, because they don't need patching. They're excellent just the way they are. Also, as a side note, there are quite a few peds on the streets (PS3 version), so worry not, fellow GTA fans who don't have the game yet. A toggle between GTA4 driving and GTA5 driving in gameplay options would solve these issues. It would be the best of both worlds. Problem averted. killuminaughtydog
azali10
All these people praising IV for realism have never been behind the wheel before. Hell, I was like that when IV first came out, but I've had a ton of driving experience since then and I realized IV's handling was sh*t if you tried to compare it to reality. You could hardly drive with the ease of a real life car, even if you were trying to follow traffic laws. If you want a game with close to realistic handling, try Forza or GT5. That's as close as you'll ever get and even those games don't have sticks of butter for tires. See, the truth is that the handling in games like GTA, Saints Row, and Sleeping Dogs isn't meant to be realistic at all. It's meant to be fun; to emulate what you see in action movies and TV and bring that feel under your control in a fun game. Racer__X
I really hope they patch it. Driving bikes is a joke, don't even get me started on the 5 year old kid proof quad. Only kids who don't know how to drive and can't be bothered to learn proper driving, or want any realism in that way like this handling, it's pathetic. I don't know why people link arcade to fun, hell, if we ask for a bit of realism is because we don't have fun with a sh*tty arcade physics. natsamson
The driving is fine just the way it is, maybe a few tweaks but that is all.. What needs patching are the other few and minor bugs or issues instead of something which is working.
ajrunke
The driving isn't bad, but I do have a gripe: The turn radius seems incredibly tight. Also, I cannot lock up my wheels from high speeds. I'll admit, I haven't tried NEARLY all the cars, but the ones I have I'll be going really fast and hit the brakes. I can't lock the wheels up.....I've used every combination of handbrake only, brake only, brake and handbrake...still nothing. Maybe I can with the sports cars, but that is annoying as f*ck. IveGotNoValues
I've been playing for a few hours now, and I gotta say I love the new driving! I can't see why some people hate it. It's much more fun than IV's in my opinion.
revHunter
Online streams do no justice to how driving really feels when you hold the controller and play the game. I agree with OP -- the game is awesome, no need to patch. And I liked IV's driving also. Edited September 17, 2013 by revHunter
The_Communist
I was being very critical of the driving from what I saw in the leaks, but since playing it I find it is definitely a step up from GTA IV. The vehicles are simply more responsive. It's not arcade-driving but it's not a driving sim either. It feels just right, and I feel when I crash it's because I made a mistake. I still find myself using my breaks just as much as I did in GTA IV too. Honestly, the driving is fine. Perhaps some cars feel like they turn a little too tight and my vehicle feels impossible to destroy, but they really don't need changing. On the other hand the motorbikes feel like sh*t. Neckbeard
As much as I like GTA V and think that it's the best GTA up to date the driving is a very big step backwards (the way how every car feels different is great but the extremely arcadey physics make the sport cars unplyable for me)
