How many people are having major problems with GTA V?

this truly is grand theft, on a world wide scale. they're making billions from this glitchfest.

Played all the main missions, wanted to play again.

But now when I start the game, it's goes as far as loading story mode.

But stays there the whole time, music still playing, and pictures coming by.

 

Don't know what to do about it, have reinstalled my game, put my save game file back in, but still the same problem...

 

Anyone know what to do ?

I had phoned for the blimp early in the game, then crashed it a few min's after flying it

as there is so much to do i did not bother trying to fly it till about 20 or so hours in game play

, now its no longer in my phone contacts! how do i get it back?

i tryed to use all three players phones and looked all over the map ( i think,, its so big)

I have 66/69 missions done. I cannot continue my primary missions. I'm supposed to be waiting for an email(has to do with a heist mission, I won't elaborate further for spoilers), but after playing for several hours as EACH character, I still have nothing.

 

I have no available missions for ANY character. I've wasted time and even done lots of side events and activities, hoping that it might update my mission progress, but nothing. I submitted a support ticket with Rockstar and hopefully they can walk me through a solution, or at least fix it in a patch.

 

So while I can still play the game, I'm unfortunately stuck 3 missions before the ending...

 

Also, I think it might've been cause by finishing my Epsilon quest while being in the middle of the last heist set up mission(despite technically not being IN a mission).

I've having a problem where the game simply refuses to use my centre speaker on my 5.1 setup. I've confirmed by testing that it's a problem with this game only.

Same here. not to mention that the engine audio is terrible bikes are really bad. can barley hear them

No problems at all, like zero.. both graphical and performance and I had 3 sessions of 10 hours in a row with a 360 of 2006..

One thing I would like to recommend to people is to not save over a file. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I've never had problems loading games because I always create a new save while deleting older ones. I'm sure it's not completely full proof, but it's worth trying. It helped me with Bethesda games.

The only two glitches I had so far were when I was walking with Chop, I climbed a crane and he was already at top. Teleported? And when I started climbing down, I received a pop-up saying that Chop has died and he will respawn in Franklin's safehouse.

The second glitch was when I was riding a quad bike, I bumped into a fence, had full health, but then the quad really slowly just slided on top of me and I died, lol.

I have no problems with the game at all except these two glitches. No FPS drops, no glitchy textures. I'm playing on PS3 Super Slim.

And yeah we all have major issues with the Social Club, it pisses me off that I can't save my pictures. I really hope they'll fix it when the Online comes up.

Aside from funny duplication glitches I figured out how to do (which at one time crashed the game), this game does have some problems. I've noticed some texture popping, objects appearing just before me (which means I nearly hit them), some frame rate drops, and vehicles and NPCs disappearing right at me (when the camera is off-screen). I assume most of these come from the consoles horrible specifications trying to run this game, but it really breaks the immersion when some vehicles and pedestrians behind you suddenly disappear...

 

One problem is saved vehicles disappear, but Rockstar are aware of that, so it should be fixed (soon I hope).

 

The major problem I have is that Snapmatic application. Whenever I take a photo it says "Alert: Online service is disabled on your account", and I can't do anything to fix it. It's been like this for days... Apparently it's the RGSC site not having enough bandwidth, but at times the site loads fine. It syncs everything else from my game to the site fine anyway. Do you need one of those pointless 'Xbox LIVE Gold" accounts to save pictures? Because that's a joke, I'm not paying Micro$oft just to save some images. Any other users having this issue? And is there any fix for it? I have some really great images I would like to take... Who at Rockstar decided an always-online camera was smart? Why can't I save them to this terrible console's hard drive? They make it so difficult. I would appreciate any help, everywhere I've looked there's been no real explanation as to what causes this.

I'm giving the game back if this isn't fixed.

Everything was fine at the start, ever since I unlocked Trevor the texture pop-in has been ridiculous.

Oily buildings and bridges in the distance, mountains look like terrain from Fallout 3. Bushes, trees, sign-posts, pedestrians appearing out of nowhere. It was all working perfect before, now it's unbearable.

It's as if the draw distance has gradually deteriorated since I reached the outer Los Santos area.

I feel scammed by Rockstar here.

I'm on an Xbox and haven't installed the play disc.

Hugely disappointed. I was enjoying the game so much.

Lost two custom cars and one bike. Disappeared from Franklins garage and on the paleto heist mission, after killing all the cops outside the bank, it wouldn't go onto the next part. I fixed that by quitting the game and restarting.

The only problems I found is that the garages sometimes don't save your car or the car shop online does not deliver it. Btw has you people noticed that people sometime give reactions to the car you ride, they say things like 'Nice ride!', that is really epic, and sometimes they take pictures of your car. Maybe a small detail, but for me it is awesome, well done on that Rockstar!

As in you can't walk in through the front doors? If I set a waypoint onto the heist marker, it will take me to the back of the club; you need to go in through the front. The rest of the Solomon missions are required to progress to the final heist. Let me know how it goes!

When I've watched TV over 5 minutes the game freezes while watching or when I stop watching and a couple of times I've noticed light polls pop up like 5 meters in front of me when I've driven fast in the city.

The game runs perfect for me, the only problem is that I can't access to the Lester factory when I finish the Ballad Of Rocco mission.. somebody already have a solution for this?

Plus: I don't have another save file in my game and I don't want to play from the beginning again.

after 86% I can't access the internet on my phone. I then can't save at save locations, switch characters or do some any interactive events like retrieve my cars, play darts, golf, enter garage etc.

 

Also most of my cars disappear, even from my garages.

It's been 6 days since purchasing GTA 5 and I am losing my mind, time, sleep and in the process, all hopes of playing this game. Let me start by saying that I have an Xbox slim, purchased for as a gift for me, last december @ Wal-mart as a Skylander bundle and given to me for christmas. My kids bought me this, because they knew that GTA 5 would be coming and my Xbox had died of the RROD. So, this freezing issue is not just happening to the older machines. I also do have an HDMI port and have tried this as well as every other method described by posters here; Installing Disc one to HDD, to USB(3 new USB's in total), installing disc 2, not installing and Etc. I also have a 4gb slim, but took my old HDD and opened it and added it to my slim. In the beginning I was freezing on the very first words of the game ( 9 years pre...), but eventually got to franklins safehouse only to have it start freezing there as soon as I would leave his bedroom. Many reinstalls later, I was able to save at his house and can now respawn there, but only after a reboot from a crash as it will not reload after a crash. Now I get kicked back to the load up screen at the same spot each and every time, which is during the first real mission where Lamar and Franklin are going to repo the Bike. It happens right where the cut scene should initiate as Franklin should start opening the garage door or as I read in the walkthrough book at work. I also read that if you failed a mission 3 times, that you could skip it, so I thought I would try that out and see if I could finally get past this. After driving my car through the fence and failing this the required 3x's I got that option and accepted it......but it keeps going back to this mission!?! I am really losing my mind and my patience has already left a while ago.........I am also out of $60 and ROCKSTAR NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!! I know that they don't want this problem to get to much coverage, so they will probably ignore us as long as they can, so they can keep selling their faulty game. We need to use these forums and our words to pressure for a fix. I wish us all luck towards a day when we can all enjoy this purchase, which will be my final if something is not done soon!!!

Once you've got that sorted, I'd suggest emailing Rockstar support with your problems, detailing exactly what is happening like you have above and exactly what you have done in attempting to fix it. There is a thread talking about freezing issues on 360 - browse that as well to see if there are any possible solutions.

 

They aren't ignoring anyone - there have multiple reports of people receiving emails back from support, and I think it's fairly safe to assume that they're working on the problems people are facing. These aren't official forums, and Rockstar aren't the kind of company that you need to "pressure for a fix" - especially with the GTAO launch coming up. They would definitely want to get as many of these problems sorted as they can before October, as we all know that will introduce its' own problems.

Game worked well enough for me on a 360. Had a few glitches I fixed by retarting (Frankling being stuck in a completely locked safehouse and unable to get out, etc.), but the one I cant fix or find a work around for, is that my garages don't save cars. Any car I put in any safehouse garage is gone the next time I come back. Theres no point in paying for cars or modding them, because they're toast if I ever get out of them to do anything else.

 

The only cars that always stick around are Franlin's two cars. I guess thats at least something.

Ive noticed it only restarts when I go to the north part of los santos and especially when coming from anywhere on the north half of the map. flying driving doesnt matter if I go near Franklins second house you can forget about it

I know how to enter key as I text a lot, but I thought that being complete would really explain my situation. I really don't understand the short attention span generation, that needs things to be short to keep their interest. What I wrote here was the actual message that I sent to rockstar. If you think for a minute that they wouldn't try to prolong admitting to the many problems with this game, then you are not in reality. This could be damaging to sales from the second tier of buyers. Yes they have made over a billion dollars already, but who would really want to prematurely stop the profits. I don't think they are doing this maliciously, but from a business mind, which I can totally understand. With that being said, I am totally frustrated at this point and just want to play this game. I have already done each and every thing that has been suggested from R* and other posters and nothing has worked for me. If you have spent hours driving around and not really getting anywhere, you would feel the same.

For your benefit, i'll explain what I meant by using the enter key. I thought it was pretty obvious, but apparently it wasn't obvious enough. The enter key is used to jump to the first space of the next line of text. It's really useful when you want your readers to actually read what you've written. It has nothing to do with attention spans. Hope that's cleared that up for you, and you can learn this technique in the future. Here is a website for reference if you get confused.

 

Glad to hear you've emailed Rockstar - hopefully they get back to you soon as they have done with others, I can totally understand your frustration. Considering how it's a small minority that are having problems, and the availability of info on these problems, I don't think there's any real need for Rockstar to make a public announcement until they know exactly what is causing these problems. You're right in that they're probably protecting sales - but there's also no point announcing something when you don't really have anything to announce.
