[SPOILERS] Stock Tips thread

How long does it usually take for a company's stock price to bottom out e.g. Bilkinton's after the hotel assassination? I've been keeping tabs on it for a few days (in game) now and it has been dropping since the mission. It's at $73.51 just now and it's confusing especially since in the OP's game it bottomed out at about $120. At one point it went up slightly so i thought it was about to go back up so i bought all the stock i could but it then started going down again.

Right for the construction assassination have all your characters invest into gold coast construction before the mission then after it's done go back to your safe house sleep twice and sell the stocks you should make an extra 80% on what you invested into gold coast.

im re-doing the game, really f*cked up on debonaire stocks...

but yeah, your debonaire and vangelico "tips" havent worked for me.

vangelico bottomed at 212. so i never ended up buying shares till it was back at 260. so i never bought shares.

debonaire i was waiting for it to go over 380. it hit 360 then shot down to 240 within the space of 1h IG.

just thought you should warn people your "tips" are just a rough guide, and that they should SAVE SAVE SAVE SAVE and save more. to make sure they know whats going to happen in their market.

Yeah, it's an unpredictable motherf*cker, I've spent the last day just sitting around, staring at my portfolio waiting for prices to go up or down. And if they don't do what I want, reload savegame, start over, and it always does something different. Poor Franklin sunk everything into stupid Hijak when it was low, but then it went even lower and he's out a few grand!

yeah it is, has a complete mind of its own, i'd even class it as another game cause its definitely harder making a "worthy" profit off of stocks than playing gta5.

just plz put a warning message at the top, cause although im not 5. i can see alot of people making the same mistake i did, and venting on you for their own decisions.

and thanks for putting the effort into making it look good// actually bothering to put it together.

Question about BettaPharmaceuticals.

My return percentage is stuck at 49.99% for like 2 days now. Does it go up more than that? Is there any way to make it go any bigger?

I think I remember having it at 81% or something but I quit that game, thinking it would autosave the prices arghh

Don't do any assassinations at all until you beat the main storyline. You will have a considerably larger amount of capital to invest and get the most out of the massive stock fluctuations that happen when doing Franklins assassination missions with Lester.

I tried the hotel mission one time, then bawsaq was available right after it ended, so i reloaded from an earlier save and did it again, this time investing the money into BETTA before the mission. Went in with BETTA at ~$205 and it topped out at $372.7.

Now, Bilkinton has bottomed out at ~$39.45, so I invested in it to get the rebound. Problem is that I've been waiting for about 30 - 45 minutes and it has not come back up yet. I think it's going to be like the Lifeinvader and never pop back up again for me, but I'll give it about 20 more minutes and if it hasn't changed, I'll take half of my money out and move along.

when did you invest into the gold company? right after the last heist?

Unfortunately most of us have already completed the main story.

I'm currently wanting to make enough cash to buy the golf course but so far I've lost about 3 million in the stock market.

There is no pattern and every time I cause destruction to other property it doesn't kick in straight away and when it does I've missed it.

I waited for the price to hit the low spot, I went all in with all three characters and then started the assassination. Then I went to Franklins house and slept until the profit percentage hit the 80% that you see there. You may see 1% below or above that but in my experience thats the highest it got before it drops down to 25% or so. Then I sold and now all my characters are sitting with like $60,000,000 in the bank lol. Trevor wants a tank! lol

Agreed. I'm debating starting over now that I know what to look for and what companies to invest in. I was dumb by wasting my money on the properties early. (thinking the sooner I buy, quicker I make money back)

Brilliant!!

Side note, have you had success in investing in one company then destroying the rivals?

I am testing this now, going to start with known rivals. Going to see if sabotaging a Merryweather weapons delivery to the military base will fluctuate the stock at all.

So is it best to invest in the stock market after you finish the storyline excluding the other things?

Absolutely. More capital + playing the market smart (aka guaranteed profit with assassinations) = $ Profit! $

So let's say I finish the story, I then invest in maze bank, or ammu-nation, how do I get profit?

I also tried to "replay" the assassination missions and it take you back to that point in your save.. so nearly useless to go back and try to invest...

any ideas for someone who's completed all of it? :miranda:

Then you would want to take out the competition for those specific companies. Ex. Maze Bank, see if you can light up a Liberty Bank somewhere in Los Santos. Then check the stock fluctuation.

Yeah now that I am done too, I'm looking for ways to invest smart. Like I said above I'm trying to experiment with the best/easiest companies to play off of each other so that I can abuse their stock battle for profit. Will post if I find anything major.

I just finished the second heist where you steal the nuclear weapon, with the three main characters.

I was wondering what stocks I should invest in or which future missions will help me make alot of money with stocks.

can i still get that amount of gold even tho i have done the first assasinate mission?

Even with $60,000,000, you are very far from the $150,000,000 asked to buy the golf course.

I suppose GTA Online will help us to buy it, I don't see any other way as the stock market seems to be very random from all I have read on this forum (here and there : http://gtaforums.com/topic/594985-the-stock-exchange-information-thread-wip/) and on other french ones (jeuxvideo.com).

I think the only way to buy the golf course would be to play all day/night long for months with low profit on second missions and stock market!

Also, maybe there will be others assassinations in GTAO.

Absolutely, I did this having already done three of the missions. Just passing wisdom forward!

I am wondering the same thing my friend, trying to see if there is a way to wire money to another character. That would be perfecto.

I heard that you can get profit from the cinema which cost $30,000,000.

Can you try it on a copy of your save ?

Thanks

My current tactic: Waiting for Hijak stock to drop to like $5.50 a share, invest everyone, wait for it to go up, save, wait longer, save. If it goes down, revert to old save. In the mean time I just f*ck around looking for stunt jumps on my bike. Stock is currently up to $6.23, which is about 15% profit.

Heading to class right now, will be back home in about 4 hours and I will buy the cinema with Michael (obviously). I think there will be upkeep missions but I will post results once I have them.
