Doesn't seem like it to me. It sounds like tons of people complained about IV. While a lot of it has changed for the better, like bringing back more customization and variety, things like driving have been dumbed down. Either way, complaining about flaws in games is hardly whining. People have a right to bring up flaws in products they'd spent money on. If nobody ever received criticism at all, society would not be anywhere close to where it is right now. Everyone would be content with their sh*tty creations.

Yes they have a right to voice their opinion good or bad. But there is a right way and a wrong way. What we have going on here is the wrong way.

I'll give a good example of the right way:

I have a PS3, I heard Saints Row was a fun game. When Saints Row 2 came out I got it. Played the crap out of it, it was and still is a good game. Based on that experience I bought The Third. Played through the story, and put it away, for me it was blah.

I DID NOT buy 4. I voiced my opinion with what really matters, my wallet.

Another example, Hitman. I have Contracts, blood money, Silent assassin(?) Not sure about that title ATM), they made changes to Absolution, so I waited for reviews.(from players, not game sites.) Decided it wasn't for me, didn't complain, I just didn't buy it.

Exactly. The GTA series, RDR and Bully are the only Rockstar games I have owned but they have all been great, despite their flaws. Because of this I am happy to trust Rockstar for now. I'm buying this game on release day and I am happy to pay a small premium to get the game earlier while giving Rockstar more money to continue developing great games.

The day they stop making games I enjoy, is the day I stop buying them. It could be this game, but from what I've seen, I seriously doubt it.

....it's a GAME.

:panic::lol::lol::panic::panic::lol::lol: we finally have a winner !!! :panic::panic::panic::lol::lol::lol:

And games are supposed to be fun and entertaining. I don't find the entertainment in indestructible vehicles.

I think you'll find those Vehicles a lot more destructible than you expect. Wait until you start playing some of the missions, you're in for some crazy sh*t.

Good points, OP. I'll take your advice and just play the game for myself. Handing actually doesn't look too bad. Just damage bothers me. But the game is a 10/10 regardless.

I'll go into it with an open mind.

You should try Max Payne 3 too.

There being a "right" way and a "wrong" way sounds a bit arbitrary to me. I've come to believe that being reserved or bothering to try and have manners or similar things like being politically correct doesn't do favors for anyone. There should be no need to censor yourself.

As far as speaking with your money, well, there may be some merit to that, but ultimately I think being very vocal is the most effective way of getting things changed in a product you WANT to be better, rather than giving up on it altogether. If people like me, who were disappointed with games like Twilight Princess or Lollipop Chainsaw just stopped buying games from developers, there might not have been a push at all for truly great games like Skyward Sword or Killer is Dead. Those are just two examples. I was hoping that there would be more of a change for Saints Row 4 myself, but it's pretty much just glorified DLC.

Whatever reason Rockstar had for the bad damage model, it's still disappointing, ruins it for me. But I'm sure it's going to be fixed real soon and we're all going to be happy.

I seriously wouldn't worry too much. I know the car will be harder to damage but I've also seen examples of some examples of some very f*cked up cars. This seems like too obvious a flaw for Rockstar to miss over 5 years of development. I'm expecting extremely tough mission and I'm sure we're all going to end up wrecking a lot of guys.

Going in with an open mind is the best idea. If all you do is look at the leaks and inspect cars for damage, there's a chance you might end up doing that in the game too and you're more likely to be disappointed. I don't want to role play GTA as an insurance inspector and I'm sure no one else does either.

Funnily enough, I disliked the first and voted with my wallet. I didn't even know MP3 was developed by Rockstar until a couple of weeks ago, I just automatically passed them by. I might well look into MP3 after I'm done with GTA though, I've heard some pretty good things about it on here.

I'm saving my final judement until I've had some sweet time with it, but it doesn't change the fact of what I've seen. A car going very fast, crashing into a wall with absolutely no damage is unacceptable. I've seen head-on crashes with no damage, only sparks. Unacceptable. I've also seen cars crushed and undrivable. Confusing. I love vehicle deformation and expect it to be on par with IV, or to get totally better just like all GTA's have since GTA 1. I've watched GTA evolve into what it is. What I see now makes no sense to me. But we will see tomorrow night and Tuesday. I will be playing til my eyes bleed. Then, I'll give you a 100% opinion on GTA V. In fact, I created a rate GTA V thread just for this very reason.

I totally agree that you should support the developers with feedback and loyalty, but I think you have to take the developer into consideration. Rockstar have always done things their own way. Of course they listen to our feedback, but they don't include us in the decision making process. They make what they want to make. They are in it for the money first, they know how to make great games but their real strength is how they sell them. The end-user comes second to profits.

But this is okay for me, I've always enjoyed GTA despite their many flaws, the story, world and satire alone are worth the money but the gameplay has always felt great for me too. I honestly can't see how Rockstar could screw up their highly successful strategy on their most ambitious and expensive game to date.

To everyone who is concerned I would urge you to completely ignore the physics for the fist couple of days. Just get used to the game and get into the story. You might find that the physics engine is well suited to the game, despite some of its glaring faults. I hated driving in IV at first, it felt like a boat to me, but once I got into the story I forgot about it. The more I played, the better I got and I ended up loving it. I'm sure V will feel a little alien at first but I'm confident I'll love the game.

R*'s philosophy in game making is why 'most' of us are here.

I honestly believe, having seen some footage, the 'Oh Sh*t!' moments well overshadow the flaws.

I have to agree with El Tel, the bottom line will always come first. It's a product of the Wii, COD, DLC world we game in.

We sir are dinosaurs, slowly going extinct.

Well, I'm a dinosaur anyway.

ROCKCOCKSTAR THIS IS HILARIOUS! You, fanboys, when will you all open your eyes? If R* will not fix that major handling physics flaw, then it will be totally ruined.

It's laughable how much they killed the physics/driving in this game, from driving to crashing, to jumping from cars, etc. Ruined.
