Can someone please tell me what "arcady" means? Always read it it when it's about car driving.

I'm no native English speaker and Google does not really help with this.

"Not fixed. GTAO will be screwed unless first day patch"

ya thats the only thing to be worried about now. just give us a mode online kinda like RDR with hardcore mode give us a hardcore/realism mode with the better handling and free aim etc..

so happy!

It refers to the driving style/physics and feel of a video game that centers around racing. Similar to those games you used to play in the old school arcades with steering wheels.

Games like Need for Speed, Grand Turismo, Midnight Club, Forza.

They cater to linear racing type driving... not open world, dynamic driving.

This cheat looks awful? In the youtube comment section he said he's barely pushing the analog stick aswell.

No thanks!

Thats... A great idea. :santa::r*::beerhat:

But i think it is more slidey then GTA IV. But IDK since i havent tried it. I was fine with both the driving versions actually.

Ah, thanks a lot.

The reason why I prefer the slidey cars handling more than the standard is because I like challenging driving. Of course it's not realistic but I think the standard is too easy and arcadey for me. It looks worse in the video though because he's giving way to much gas.

I believe it's fully possible to drive controlled with that handling.

Yeah after watching it a few more times it seems he's doing it more on purpose.

It's obviously on purpose. Look how he gives full gas and fishtails the car.

Are people serious about this? Has the hate for the new handling (without having played it) gotten so far that you actually like how this handling looks? Man it looks ridiculous and they can't even seem to drive in a straight line....yeah this this should be the handling.....NOT! Seriously?

Nope. Read the comment. He's showing how easy it is to slide. He said he's barely tapping the analog stick. Imagine if you actually give it full range of motion. You'd spin like a top.

I'm looking forward to try it myself. IMO it seems like he's using to much gas while trying to turn which makes the back wheels spin out of control.

I think that's the main difference between people who are split on this issue. It feels much more dynamic to me to be able to control the sliding with small touches like that, rather than holding right or left in order to have the car simply turn right or left at such a high speed.

This doesn't seem to be quite so perfect, as I don't want to drift at incredibly low speeds, so I wish there was more of an inbetween, but I'll take this over not being able to slide or drift at all. And as GTA4life said, I think the amount of gas will probably effect it as well.

i would rather slide around and have a challenge rather the point and shoot arcady turning. it is a little too slippery but nothing i cant handle.

i was thinking that if you put some racing soft tires on your sports car then the slippery cheat it would balance it out a bit maybe?

You guys will be Lucky if you can tune your car and make it easier to drive, if not...good luck, but you are f*cked, simple as that. Trying to drive properly without the car sliding all over the place was never this bad in IV. This sh*t really is ridiculous.

The most ridiculous thing of all this is....that you guys have NOT even played it yet and already written it off.

We don't want "easy", we want something challenging and rewarding when you can pull it off just right. It adds another layer of depth to the game considering driving is a large part of the game.

Right this needs to stop, had the game 2 days nearly, and the driving is fine! sure it takes some getting used to as it is totally different to 4 but in a good way, the only thing I don't like is the handling on bikes, it really dosent feel right.

It's absolutely crazy how everyone that has the game says the driving's better than IV, and the ones who complain are the ones who don't have it...

I was just about to ask everyone in the other thread if they remembered the flying car cheat in SA, as a way of reminding us all that R* have used different physics in the same GTA game before.

Thanks freemode4eva, I look forward to playing both ways, but I have to admit I loved feathering the throttle in IV.

I agree the driving physics in V suck monkey balls, but this cheat wont help, at all...

From the streams I've been watching it's really easy to notice this "slidey" effect (which is turned on permanently by this cheat) is triggered automatically when you reach a certain speed and angle, as the car suddenly starts sliding out of nowhere...

Damn. what a let down...

not writing it off or anything. i will obviously give it a chance but from what ive seen im not impressed. plus i like drifting and im pretty good at in GT5 and Forza.

I guess that wouldn't have anything to do with the fact the majority of those who are streaming it early are blinded by their own hype towards this game.

I don't know.. just an opinion.

You couldnt take a turn at fast speeds in GTA IV without out sliding out. That is not normal and that is not realistic. Niko was a pain in the ass to control himself, that didnt make the game better, it made it clunky and annoying. To you guys, the worse the handling and harder to control, the better. Thats not realistic and that is the exact opposite of what most people want.

Who knows....fact is...people who are complaining have not played it yet. It doesn't look one bit like MCLA and that for me is already goddamn good news. Tomorrow night/tuesday we will know. But the countless threads of complaining was just ridiculous.

I have over 1000 hours in driving simulators, as well as my own car.

I can tell you right now despite GTA IV driving physics not being realistic in many ways, they are a lot better than V's. It's like they completely gave up and went fully arcade for some reason.

I can't understand that decision: people were already used to GTA IV driving physics and they were expecting something along those lines, with maybe a little bit more grip and a better suspension model... why they decided to ditch them and go full arcade is beyond me.

Also, I honestly don't understand how someone can think this is the appropriate driving/flying physics model, when everything else is way more realistic (character animations, interactions, gameplay, story, shooting and so on, not to mention the highly detailed environment)... it's not on the same level.

To be honest I don't care what the physics are like as long as I have fun playing the game its will be an awesome game. I will enjoy what I have and make it fun :)

Well I have many hours in driving my Ford Mustang and I can take turns at high speeds without sliding a hundred feet.

Its not that hard to understand dude, most people did not like GTA IV's driving physics, as hard as that is for you to believe. Whenever GTA IV is brought up in a conversation...so is the sh*tty driving. Harder does not equal better. Like I said it was harder to control Niko while he was walking than it is the characters in GTA V, and Niko's on foot controls sucked.

GTA IV is also considered one of the worst games in the series because they ditched the arcadey feel for a more realistic feel. San Andreas felt arcady and is considered one of the best video games of all time. To me GTA V is San Andreas on steroids.
