I'm still somewhat confused on this midnight launch stuff. I'm going to one at Gamestop and they said to get there at 9 or 10 to get a number or something. First off. If I do that, will I get the game faster once the release starts. And second. Do I have to sit in line for 2-3 hours if I get that number or whatever it is.

 

I'm 18, but I don't have a drivers license so I have to have my mom go with me. I doubt she wants to sit there for several hours just for a game.

I found out my place unfortunately will not be holding a midnight release, and the other nearest place is around half an hour away (maybe a little less)

I might go, if I am off work Tuesday (I do landscaping and the schedule changes sporadically). The only place near me that is doing a midnight release is WalMart, and I live in a smaller town so it shouldn't be too bad. If nothing else, I might actually wait until a little later to go if it's too crowded.

my car broke down today so i have to see if my buddy will come over tomorrow and give me a lift to the auto part store so i can get the part i need so i can go, but at least i have an excuse to miss work and i took off tuesday and wednesday anyway.

Same here. Not quite sure if I'll go, though. I'm in the downtown area of a major North American city so the wait will be huge. I may change my mind and not go. Or I'll just show my ID and etc then hang out at a bar nearby (by myself, haha) and then attend the event. Not there to "meet people with the same video game interests" though. Gonna pick up the game and bolt. f*ck the prizes they'll be giving out and sh*t.

Where is the excitement in all of that? I love going to midnight releases. I've been to several and the crowd around here is mostly all positive and will joke around with each other.

I can't, since my local GameStop is in a mall, and they won't put staff in the mall, just so "some nerds can get a game", as the security guard so beautifully put it. I'll have to wait till 4pm on Tuesday!

My GameStop is also in a mall, however we'll still have a midnight release. Sucks for you, man.

Yep, already paid up in full, gonna take a stroll to Blockbuster with me wife at midnight and collect it. Booked the whole week off, told all my staff not to bother me at all, they can run my company for me!

 

You serious bro ? You a boss of a company ? I wish I could work for a boss like you who loves GTA. Well yeah, to be fair I don't get holidays or sick days like they do, so I think it is fair game, and no I won't be letting them have a go on the game!
