Pursuit of the almighty dollar?

[...] pursuit of the almighty dollar? ” - RockstarGames.

Ok first guys, I'm not complaining... I'm a Rockstargamer I mean, you could call me the #1 fanboy in the world and I would take this positively. From what I saw on the forum there's a huge disappointment on things like interiors... Don't worry, this isn't just a thread crying about the '' lack of interiours ''.

I know there's 321 threads talking about interiours, but wow this isn't 2002 anymore... Buying a strip club, getting near the doors & realizing this is a FICTIONAL BUSINESS? REALLY? I know I sound like a 12 year's old kid but five years of watching forums, articles, videos & ect to own a '' nonexistent business '' ?

The '' Almighty dollar '' is a beautiful term, then what? That's it? I just don't get it. We had clubs like the Malibu in Vice City, it was in f*cking 2002... Buying cars, motorcycle & ect is a great feature don't get me wrong but why all the focus on this? I've been stealing cars for the last 13 years while playing GTA, I'd rather get inside my strip club & pretend I'm the boss instead of buying a scooter online. (I love buying things online by the way)

The feeling of owning everything is perfect but when you really '' own '' it... I thought I could see the protagonists walking in the club like SUP BITCHES MY NET WORTH IS 54 000 000$ but no I guess not this time... At least in TBOGT I could pretend I was owning the place & now we can't even get inside our own club, wow.

Patch, DLC, or that's just it? What do you think?

Your too grown up to have a cyber business but your not above complaining on a forum of people that don't care about your opinion

Use your brain and shut your mouth.

Think about what "almighty dollar" actually means OP, its referred to as almighty because the difference between having some and not having any can be life or death, and also generally, it can buy you everything from friends to partners to social influence. Its not neccesarily about building a massive empire. In earlier games you could amass a stupid amount of cash in ways that didnt always make a lot of sense, only to not find enough ways to use it, this game seems to be reeling that back on both counts. I actually think the pursuit of money will be more centric to this game's theme than others but its the protagonists motives that make it so, especially Franklin. Even in San Andreas with CJ his rise to riches just seemed a fortunate byproduct of wanting to get his gang back in order.

I agree. In previous GTAs, the driving factor behind the protag was never 100% money. It seems that this time round, while there is a back story and sub plots will develop, the whole point is to make as much money as possible.

There are more ways to earn it, and more ways to spend it. In this sense it reflects modern society: ultimately everything comes down to the size of your bank account.

This for me, will be what the game does best. I think the majority of decisions the R* team made, was to back up the overall theme of the game.

@Sossy: I undestand what you mean but businesses are in anyway... Why not adding interiors for them? Simulation would be alright for some online investments but putting a '' purchasable property '' logo in front of a strip club & you can't even go in? Wow I still can't believe it...

@Deadly Target: This mod looks great! I'm going to try it! :D

Why all the focus on cars in a game called Grand Theft Auto?....

I haven't the slightest idea.

And you're Def not a fan boy if you don't realize gta at its heart is about cars/vehicles.

Look at the original games for reference

OP, great thread and post. I agree 100%. So disappointed that you cant enter the businesses you buy. A definite "wtf" moment. You can ride the rollercoaster and do Yoga but cant enter your strip club...
