AlexL
Exactly. I think I remember reading somewhere you could drive them in GTA 1, but I never really played it, so I wouldn't know for sure. @AlexL - I'll stop only if you can rebuttle the points I made to address your points: 1. Trains aren't entirely invincible. They can derail, as seen in San Andreas, thus rendering them useless. 2. Trains may have been good to get away from the police in San Andreas, but seeing as the police AI is improved in V, the police could just track your movements from the rail line you're traveling on. 3. Trains aren't really that fun to drive. After playing train simulator & railworks for years, I can assure you that sitting in a virtural cab, watching the same scenery go by, isn['t very fun. 4. Trains aren't an easy way to travel, seeing as you need to find a train, climb aboard (if you fail that, youre doomed to wait for another train), and even when you reach your destination, you have to jump off and walk to your final point, implying the train directly passes your safehouse 1. They are invincible unless you derail them (if possible). 2. We don't know what the police can do against the train yet. 3. They are fun to drive for some people. 4. They will be an easy way to travel (besides planes and taxis), if we can steal them. We will find out when the game comes out...

Zorblex
I actually just found out the train has parts that are lower so if you press the climb/jump button when it comes near you can climb onto the train and ride on top of it. It's actually really fun heh;D. No you can't drive them or go inside them as far as I know. And if the cops are after you they will sometimes come with cars ON the tracks in front of you and run right into the moving train it's funny:P. Anyway yeah that's all I know. ..GhosT
TL;DR filter out all the bullsh*t. There are no train stops, you cant drive the train or the tram, the train is only driveable once and its in a single mission for not even a minute. Fizzlepop531
I was on a freight train sniping traffic as it went passed the highways. At one point I got the wise idea to use the grenade launcher. I aimed poorly and it hit one of the freight cars. It blew up! I waited for the fire to go out, and hopped ontop of the car. I then blew up the next car! While on a roll, I blew up the next one! Too bad that was the Engine. Train stopped. So yeah, you can totally stop a train, just don't plan on it going anywhere afterward lol.

Pepperjack
Not a pc gamer myself but i am sure once it comes to PC they will be able to mod it so you can drive a train, After all if it's during a mission there is a mechanic for driving one

I swear, I did not make this up. It was after the Parachuting mission where you have to land on the train. Do that, land on the train, climb up one of the freight cars and shoot the freight car in front of the one you are standing on (just not the one you are actually standing on for you may die). Bunch of boring loser idiots. I actually did play GTA: SA, but I spent most of my time in a jet lol. Stunt flying in GTA: SA was my favorite thing to do. Never really messed with trains in SA though, what was all the fuss about? Could you go off road with them? Do stunt jumps?
brose_sfr
Not being able to use the trains kinda bums me out. I used to use the train to get from LS to SF in GTA:SA, but hey, that was 10 years ago... I also liked the subway on GTA IV.
Cutter De Blanc
Rebuttal is a noun, not a verb. You can make a rebuttal, you don't rebuttal something. jptawok
I'm astounded by the amount of people this is a big deal for. I guarantee if the trains were in game, you'd drive them once, maybe twice aside from when you're forced to. After using it/derailing once or twice, they really lose their luster. Don't make the "escape the cops" comment because that's the dumbest defense of drivable trains I've heard yet.

AlexL
Great game no doubt about it. but SINGLE PLAYER No 6 star wanted level. Fewer kevlar than ever. Topspeed of Supers and Bikes is ridiculously low. In previous GTAS had no enough road to max cars. In this there´s lots of accel but no topspeed. All show and no go. Classic controls back. Invincibilty cheat just 5 minutes, otherwise it would be great fun and that´s not right. If single player is boring you´ll have to play online. They don´t let you rampage around. But they feature the mission "Torture the dark skinned guy",repulsive stuff" Looks they had so much to work about scenery and "Realism" they forgot what GTA was always about. It´s a game it should be just for fun,as always. No realistic driving but exagerate car/player damage in crashes. Somebody wasn´t thinking Cops are too smart and happy triggered. Can´t even start a figth without the all over. Police cars are rockets. Player is far too weak you fall and die for just about anything. Far too much car crash death. Cars made of butter. Bigger garages, parking lots, whatever. Can´t even enter in your properties. 2147 Million with stock strategy and... No houses to buy. No companies to buy. Nothing in the sea. Buzzard is crap ( In IV was just great) Tank is useless. No speedometer ( never ) No train missions ( or driving ) No paramedic missions. No police missions. No firemen missions. No lorry missions. No Mr. Whoopee Crackselling. No pimp missions. No pizzaboy missions. No lowriders competition. No GANG WARS. No flamethrower ( so far ) No nitrous. No wheelies with bikes or quads. No tiresmoke ( ridiculous ) No racing exhaust for supercars. Modified tires are narrower than standards Topspeed is ridiculous. Car nose camera is now useless Camera gets too far behind. In Franklin´s Buffalo is just perfect. In Trevor´s Crapmobile goes so far you can´t see a thing. Camera loops with the plane ( too static ) Not in full HD 1080P And aiming is crap. Always aims first the guys far away and you have a "dude" 1 meter in front of you shooting in your face and aims anybody but him, even aims first unarmed targets. Agree with 80% of those. ChumCrumpet
Trains stop very briefly (about a minute or so) twice through their route. That's it. You can jump on them, but it feels a wee bit glitchy. The cars attatched to the train can get blown up apart from the flatbeds. That might be able to be destroyed, but I've never seen it explode. That's all I know.

Of all the features that people want copy pasted from previous GTAs, trains, really? Well this "copy/pasting" is what makes it fun, why would you want to have LESS features than in previous GTA games? are you f*cking serious? I don't like what they did with GTA 5, they gave us some good features but removed others... By the way, isn't stealing cars and shooting guns copy/pasted too? or do you want those removed aswell?
