In one frame of reference yes of course it is serious. But they are all about fun. The content of the radio stations. The absurdity of it. They are not producing serious material in that respect. Want a serious shooter? Play Hitman. Want a serious driver? Play any of the other driver sim games. That's it.

If you want realism, how about lengthy prison terms in solitary confinement when you get busted? Say lockdown for 1 month and you can only use the exercise yard for 1 hour per day. The rest of the time you can use your character walking around the cells and so on. Come on. Real life is sh*t.

This is why the PC version is important. You can usually change how the car handles and do other modifications to make it more realistic.

 

But think about it this way, GTA V gives you a realistic, alive city to live in and do what you want. If you choose to drive in a more professional way, you can. If you choose to drive like a dumbass, do unrealistic things with the car like falling with your car from a high position and still staying alive, you can do that too.

 

I agree that GTA has always been like this. Driving was never realistic.

speaking as a casual gamer - im so satisfied with what rockstar has done this time. the new policing system, wanted level system, & the overall overhaul of the entire new style of gta. [insert your "youre suck rock* duck here] there are far 2 many run around & shoot everyone games on the market - none of which i play. when a gta game drops i know ill enjoy it despite not gaming much since their last one. i AM a casual gamer & at the moment only own lbp2 & gtaiv. thats my speed. the rest of the games out are repetitive & pointless. thanks rockstar.

I'm a "casual gamer" these days, in the sense that I'm in my 30s and can't just play video games all the time. That said, I really liked IV's driving physics and other moves toward realism. You actually had to become good at driving to complete some IV missions.

 

So, if V is moving away from this and you don't like it, I'd suggest you complain as much as everyone did about IV being too hard for them or whatever.

 

IMHO, GTA has always been too easy. There's always a mission here or there that I have to actually form a strategy to pass, but I do and move on. That doesn't mean it's not fun.

How exactly do you expect them to pay for the HUGE budget of a game like this without selling a f*ckton of games? Go home OP, you're drunk.

Lowering a perceived barrier to entry and making the game more accessible to a wider audience would garantee the sales of said f*ckton.

 

However, I've never considered GTA a high level gaming experience, skill wise. I think that rockstar wanted to make certain changes, and made them. They can do that. It's theirs.
