TrueElement Posted September 15, 2013 Share Posted September 15, 2013 I think that the reason a lot of people have been complaining about the game is because they are just use to GTA IV. They don't like change and GTA V is just a little too different for them. Also I think that some people set too high of an expectation for the game.. which gets shot down fast. Personally I love everything I've seen from the game besides the leaks, haven't bothered watching them. Thiw just my two cents though, don't take it the wrong way. P.S. Exactly.. obviously according to the OP.. all i have to do is get used to Saints Row bucket style of driving,,, making U turns at 200mph and stopping at a dime. It's nothing like saints row's driving. In saints row you don't even have to use the brake. You still have to slow down a sh*t ton around turns in V. King of the North Posted September 15, 2013 Share Posted September 15, 2013 (edited) I'm not too worried about the driving physics, the main thing I want to see is a more immersive game world. My main gripe with GTA4 was that there was almost nothing going on outside of the missions. After a short time I lost interest in exploring the world and even the gang members did nothing unless you attacked them. I know it's a completely different game and genre but I'm hoping that we see some of the things from Skyrim make it's way into GTA5. If you broke into somebody's house and they found out, they'd send bounty hunters after you. There were thieves waiting in the woods to rob you, different npc's would be fighting each other as you walked by and you'd bump into traders outside of cities selling their goods. All these helped to make the world feel 'alive' and kept you wanting to explore for a lot longer. All that could be transferred into the GTA universe - crackheads trying to rob you, gangs pulling off drive-by shootings on each other and thieves trying to sell you things they've stolen from stores. That would improve the experiene IMO and I hope we see things like this. GTA4 was a big letdown for me - not that it was a bad game, far from it but it was nowhere near the game I was expecting. I have seen threads including but not limited to: not enough weapons, not enough missions, not enough interiors, driving is bad, flying is unrealistic, dying happens to quickly, cops are too aggressive, not enough peds, not enough traffic Anything else? Of course V has failed to meet many of our lofty expectations that come with the territory of a half decade wait. But what concerns me the most is that I can no longer definitively say that V will win GOTY over TLoU based from what I've seen content-wise. I still think V will win. Just not as confident about it. The DLC thing has rubbed me the wrong way too. V could have been much more. I can see if we were getting a whole island or something for DLC. But this whole 90% of the game up front and 10% later culture of the modern gaming industry is low-down. Funny thing is that most people too blinded by their own fanboyism to realize it. If R* blatantly got away with it in TBOGT and TLAD, then they will certainly do it again. I'm guessing you're at least in your early 20s as I am, and I also joined this site in '05. Anyway, on-topic, when you do perform a U-Turn at 200mph please show it to us.
