If R* don't make a patch for this then all we can hope is the PC version gets announced soon so everybody can MOD their game as they like.

Yes! Because PC Gamers are the ones going to save us from Apocalyptic Rabid Squirrels! OH! What would we do without you PC Gamers come to save the day!

You are the only retarded here, sir. There are the possibility of heavy modding on PC, while on consoles you are f*cked. So go being retard elsewhere.

In the old days, before patches exsisted, games too longer to develop because debugging had to be done as a part of the process, before discs could be printed.

Now the developers can make a game, get it on disk and where it needs to go and then building up to the release date, do the debugging for a day 1 patch, rather than putting the game back a fewe months more.

I just hope the fat neckbeard cam isnt a game feature.

It ain't the "old days" no more. It's 2013, this is how things are, day 1 patch, get the game out sooner, so people don't need to wait. In 2013, people do not enjoy waiting forever. I'm sure back in "1887" people didn't mind waiting a few years to do something, but this is now, that is then. A patch is an easy, and relative thing to todays complicated systems and programs. Look at a game from an early console, hell, not even an early early one, lets just stick with N64. We all know N64. Look at the code for say, Donkey Kong, and then look at the code for GTA San Andreas. I would say, give a game like San Andreas some tech time, but get it released. To get 100% of the bugs out before release would just be

retarded

.

We need to give R* a break, they don't make a much as you think from these games. Yea the game goes for $60. But that is a marked up price from the retailer. Now you add in cost of disc, cost of print, packaging, shipping, boxing, and creating the game, that only leaves a slice. And as consumers demand more complex, and in depth games, there cut only gets smaller and smaller.

Date authentication coding method :^:

Nothing works properly until the day the codes have been set to enable, the patch may even be on the disc it's self. Not all patches are via internet, sometimes there are patches that are planned long term on the retail disc it's self. it's almost like an antivirus program, the disc will collect data from the calculations store them and if necessary a patch is formed to fix those problems based on the calculation errors it receives. That's why we have a feature that says scan content from disc, not all games require to be patched via internet use only, however it is more reliable than patches that are made from the game it's self. GTA V must have a patch already on the disc, however it could be coded to not release that patch until the date of release, or in coding terms (enable - date authentication = 17092013 - priority = release patch)

I can't believe people on this forum haven't even considered something like this :sui:

The car damage is fine trust me. Some cars get more f*cked up then others.

At times it can be inconsistent, but its definitely just as good as IV

And a console will outlast your need to upgrade.

If you think Rockstar is gonna patch handling or damage, then lol

Who said that a patch will solve it? I mean they could have done some date related coding for example. :^:

BETA game functions = anything before launch.

Retail game functions = 17092013 = GTA V's launch day.

Maybe the game can detect the time of release by using the console features to see the date and time.

Meaning that unless the date is on 17092013 or 09172013 some of the features may have been disabled with this method applied.

This sort of stuff is very possible with coding, in fact it would be surprisingly stupid to hear that it isn't possible.

If this is true couldn't they have like blocked the game entirely?
