I guess it varies, i saw a guy who crashed into a pole and it almost cut his car in half(like in IV) and the HE UPGRADED THE ARMOR ON THE CAR and almost nothing happened.

Well, speak for yourself, Im indifferent on the subject and I'll stay that way until I play for myself.

secondly, WTF was that guy thinking, that was a nice car till he banged it up.

thirdly, what car is that, Ive been trying (not very hard) to find out what the name of the Ford GT look alike is.

I dont care about the car damage as much as the handling. The handling is so bad Id rather they fix that over car damage

Well, i take it you haven't played the game. However, a lot of people have, due to getting early copies. And everyone that was asked how the car handling was, their answer was ALWAYS along the lines of: "The cars feel great, better than GTA IV". So i think you shouldn't worry.

only people who haven't played the game complain... everyone who played the game only praises it so I think that speaks for itself..

I cant believe I waited two years and was hyped to hell until two days ago. When this happened

My real question is, WHY did they downgrade from GTA IV? Was it memory issues in the game? Rockstar's The Benz did say they may stream in more car detail later(assuming GTA Online) because cars take up a "good chunk of memory". I hope they can do this in GTA V single player as well. Right now its just too bad and very unfortunate Rockstar has ruined the hype. I lost around 80% of my hype and I was so freaking hyped before that I was willing to put life on a hold for this game. Now I feel like games can always disappoint no matter what the prequel was like, and that life is way more important and to never depend on a game to be good.

GTA IV was a physics playground and felt so realistically fun.

Please can you PM that guys facebook, I was looking at his videos the other day but cant remember his facebook name, I know it begins with E lol.

Thanks.

Enraged Cinema :)

I like this improved mechanic. Get off from the windshield was stupid and you would get least damage for that...Now, you dont get easily windshield and die easily when crash hard. Better game.

Listen up little brats.

That's true that the cars hold up a good chunk of memory.

Now imagine a car model is about 3 mbytes at least. Those damages on the cars mean that a car immediately changes its model to a completely different one, the moment you hit somewhere that means the other damaged car models are still in the memory for instant effect. Now, say all the cars you see on the screen (about 10 at any given moment) has 5 different damage models

That makes 5x3x10= 150 MBs.... Current gen consoles have about 256 mb for Graphics... Now, we're left with 100 mbs and we still need to have models for the entire world. Lighting, peds, animals, the animation of all these, buildings, whether, AI, etc. etc.

I THINK YOU NEED TO SHUT THE HELL UP NOW. I LEARNED THIS YESTERDAY TOO SO I STOPPED whining.

You can customize cars and add armor, armor's making your car proof to most damage.

Non customized cars are getting ruined just fine.

The facebook guy in one of his videos, tried to blow up a car and he just ended his first video because he gave up. His next video, it took him 8 minutes to get it to explode. These were vehicles jacked by him and he didn't mod.

People have a right to complain or not. We ARE able to judge from video. The people that claim "The f*cking game isn't even out yet!" are deluding themselves into thinking this game will be flawless.

The game will be great, but it won't be without its flaws.

you are soo wrong, 1st. i wonder what collision models do with graphic card, i guess you mean RAM? if so you are still wrong, because NO MATTER how hard your car deformed, it will take the same amount of memory, deformating doesnt add new polygons, it just changes its position + changes bump map texture of the car (when you shoot at it for example), so yea your car can deform into optimus prime and it will take the same amount of memory, and even if it would work the way you think its still much less memory than 150mb rofl

How can you lose almost all your hype because of this!? Was the thing you were most looking forward to ramming your car into things or something?

Wize420, thanks. That'll be the 1st car I get.

Not a fan of US cars but since playing GT5 with the Ford GT test car spec II, I love it.

Least according to the Op it wont fall apart like the tissue paper most people want it to.

Now all you guys are dependent on the videos of that fat f*ck? If his car doesn't get damaged the way you want it to, then all hail the fat f*ck? Hae you ever considered he might've put on armor on his car? Most people that have leaked it actually have put on armor; they just forgot to mention it. The real problem here is that the armor capabilities are over powered. The damage is just fine. Look at other vids, some cars get compeltely demolished. Argue about the armor, not the damage.

You're buying a GTA game just to see damage on a car? Are you nuts?

Of course not, kid. The damage has always been a big part of a GTA game and has always evolved and gotten better with each new installment. It's many things together that make a GTA game great. Taking steps backwards is not the way to go. R* will find this out on the 17th when they get slaughtered by long-time, hardcore fans.

GTA4‘'s car models have around 200~600 KB in size. I doubt they have grown a lot bigger because there are many reused models

You've only just realised that life is more important than a video game? What age are you?

He's in the middle of an existencial crisis right now. Poor kid.

Look at 0:25... you can't even do that anymore after a crash because it seems like your character has weights around his ankles, if you crash at high speed on a superbike you literally hit the ground and roll once before stopping...

that guy was practically swerving towards the wall and when you swerve the car slows down and the point of impact changes.if you notice he only hit the wall with the corner of the car.

also if you notice its more realistic in this situation the wall was damaged and the car was scratched this is awesome.
