ZaineUK
Hi, I'm a English person and really looking forward to GTA V. However one thing I'm worried about is when I play the black character will I be able to understand all the gangster talk? I find it really irritating the way SOME black people talk and I worry it might put me off the game. I also hate excessive use of the N word. I noticed some of it in the gameplay trailer and found it annoying. Finally, I also hate rap music. Can we skip it?
TheRealBars
Its not too bad.. you'll primarily be rolling with Micheal and Trevor anyways.Enable subs (english) and/or have urban dictionary ready haha You can select your own radio station, there's loads of choice. DCRJonez
Oh boy... I understand you're not trying to be racist and just happen to dislike rap. I just hope others do as well. Anyway, there's subtitles you can turn on, like I did in GTAIV when I was trying to understand what Lil Jacob was saying (He's jamaican). And you can change radio stations. But there is no reason he could have not said franklin and Lamar and retorted to using categories instead. Don't worry dude black people have suffered enough and young people don't know the half of how bad it was which is why things like this still happen. Lisha
You're an ignorant, pedantic c*nt. Turn on subtitles if it bothers you so much. I know most people had them on in IV because Little Jacob and Badman were hard to understand.

Being an African American myself- I was actually complemented on how my speaking is so articulate:) and I also don't like saying the N word
ArcaneKnight
I just watched a vid on youtube where some kid kept dropping nothing but N bombs and F bombs over his gameplay. It was far more excessive than both Lamar and Franklin combined, I think you'll be fine.

ZaineUK
Django Unchained was good but the n word got a bit much. Maybe 50 times would have been enough but I got a bit sick after the 250th time.

TenEightyOne
Please let this be a troll post. Please. hahaha i'm English and I understand Franklin you do know what subtitles are for right, and Btw don't be racist I didn't think the OP was being rascist. He was making a point that dialectial speech can be difficult to understand. In some cultures that's deliberate, youth and gang culture are excellent examples of that. There are plenty of places in Britain where the local dialectial accent can't be understood by people from the same country. It doesn't make you a rascist if you can't tell what someone's saying. OP, in fairness I think GTA has always been smart enough to find the right line between hardcore dialect and accessible dialogue, you shouldn't worry.
