Mountain from Trailer #1

Hey guys, I'm new here. Sorry about my English, I'm from Germany! :)

To those who already have the game:

I've got a question about Mt. Chiliad (hiker scene from Trailer #1):

640px-Gta-5-trailer-1-hikers-making-the-

Has anybody been at this place since you've got the game? I'd like to know if this area still looks the same, because Chiliad looks so different in this scene, way different than the screenshots and videos, I also can't see any "shed" on the top.

Has this area been re-designed? Could someone go to this place for me and send me a photo/screenshot of it? I'm really interested because this scene looked massive!

Can't get GTA on September 17, so I'm asking here because I'm really interested in that scene. ;)

there is so many places that you could stand and look up at the mountain that it will probably be hard to find this exact spot. and also many high points.

It probably has been re-designed yeah.

It sounds like this mountain does not exist in the form depicted in trailer 1 anymore.

At least, plenty of people have been playing the game and exploring the world now for a few days, I'm sure if somebody had come across this mountain there would have been plenty of "OMG I haz found teh hiker mountain from trailer 1" type of posts.

My guess is, the trailer was made over 2 years ago, probably whilst they were still landscaping the mountain areas of the game... for reasons unknown to us they have changed how it looks (maybe into how the new Mt Chilliad now looks), or removed it entirely.

A shame, but not the end of the world.

The only odd thing is... they recently used this mountain screenshot on the cover of the "Take A Hike" booklet on the official GTAV website here: http://www.rockstargames.com/V/info/recreationalactivity so it would be slightly odd if the mountain were not in the game as depicted in the picture. Meh. I guess we will find our for sure tomorrow when the rest of the world gets the game :panic:

I plan to spend some time finding it when I get the game. I do believe it's still there due to theories in the mapping thread. It should be the North-East 'quarter' of the mountain, so if you drove East out of Paleto Bay, stopped along that road you should be able to see those ridges, and effectively find the same view. Bare in mind that there is in theory the main road from Paleto to San Chianski mountains between the hikers and Chiliad, just out of the bottom of the shot.

Interesting theory. I will head up there tomorrow as my first attempt at locating this view :panic:

GRINCH ASS BITCH

Judging by what I've seen in various streams, I'd say that is actually the backside (north-western side) of Mt. Chilliad as seen from the area in/around Paleto Bay. It looks much larger (and less symmetrical) from that distance/angle.

I will be extremely disappointed if that mountain has been removed. It's so epic and massive, and one of the places I was looking most forward to seeing ever since trailer 1.

So I have explored the map now and can safely say that this mountain no longer looks like it did in trailer 1. It looks similar, but very different at the same time... it's basically the north west face of mt chilliad... You can still make out the large ridges... but everything else looks quite different.

Not really surprised the in-game version is different, considering this trailer is nearly 2 years old.
