Tribute to Fido_le_muet

Fido_le_muet has contributed to the Mapping thread to such a degree that he basically gave us the GTA V map (I completely understand that so many others did such an incredible amount also, and also deserve to be recognised). Fido went so far out of his way not only to put in a crazy amount hours mapping Los Santos and Blaine County for us, but was also respectful of others opinions, only replied in a courteous and constructive manner and also considered the points of view of R* (no matter how much the rest of us were misled by our over-excitment). He has been the antithesies of the extremists and dullards while remaining a commited fan. If ever Fido cares to share his online name with us, I will personally be sure to hand over the full amount of my earnings (if I happen to be Leader) in an online heist mission to him, should I ever happen to be lucky enough to share the R* landscape with him. The Mapping thread has not come to an end, but it's life as our anticipation-generator is fading. Fido is our unsung hero from these forums, so I just thought some sort of tribute should be paid. Let the OP bashing begin.

I almost never comment on that thread because I just feel so outclassed by the brilliance displayed in there.

I know what you mean, so many contributed sooo much. But I following that thread from the start is what made me sign up to this forum. And in that time Fido was the one guy that, from the very start, never faultered. Many came later on and added to the shoulders of others, but man, that Fido did a LOT. If you think somebody else deserves mention, please go ahead and let them be recognised. I just thought a bit of kudos was in order (lotta negativity goes around this forum, maybe a bit of positivity wouldn't go astray)

Haha thats exactly how I feel. I also never posted in that thread.

 

Fido and other mappers did a great job. I still cant believe their map was almost the same as the official one.

i commend those who worked on the map topic.as well as Fido. all you guys did a good job in putting sh*t together. thank you guys for keeping me entertained all those days coming here to the forum and there was no info. you guys helped a lot believe me.

I can't praise all the members who contributed (non-spam) to that topic enough, it's truly awesome. I know it's kind of hidden right now because of all the leak talk, but I don't think anyone will ever forget this project and what it did for the forums. Nearly 25 thousand replies and 4.2 MILLION views over the last two years since the very first trailer. Fido's map is practically identical and that was all created from scratch from you guys and your eagle eyes. Amazing work and dedication indeed, medals aren't a thing anymore, but you get all of our respect and a ton of cookies and I'm sure getting into Los Santos for the first time and seeing your work in reality will be a special moment for you

Yeah, topic was amazing and the work put into it is mind blowing. Shows how committed some people are, and I'm foresee a promising future for them.
