I'm not sure if Amazon itself ships on Sundays but I'm pretty confident that Royal Mail sorting offices and distribution are still active on Sundays? They just don't deliver.

 

So even if Amazon dispatches it tomorrow (if they do) it could arrive for Monday?

Nah, i'm sure if it don't dispatch today, it will have to be Monday because no company dispatches on a Sunday. It should definitely dispatch today though.

Nah, i'm sure if it don't dispatch today, it will have to be Monday because no company dispatches on a Sunday. It should definitely dispatch today though.

 

 

I dont think it will, mine hasn't. No early release for me. It depends if they took money out of your account too.

Just joined to say I have previously had amazon dispatches on Sundays, I had one just this week where I ordered Sunday and it was delivered Monday, although it was by DPD.

Just wait man, the game comes out on 17th so that's when your supposed to get it, any earlier then that's a bonus.

Well I pre ordered last month and mine still on 'Not Yet Dispatched' so yours has been processed before mine. First come first serve my f*cking ass.

Nope mine hasnt got that far yet, and Ive pre ordered standard edition.

I've worked at Amazon for a small time before.

 

I'm going to take a wild guess what's happening to the 'Dispatching Now' people.

 

It's just been 'picked' and put on the trolley, that will be taking to the 'packers'. The trolleys never seem to have much stuff on there usually due to the fact someone might get confused and pick up the wrong item. As long as the picker has 'scanned' that item, you will get 'dispatching now'. Once your trolley has reached the packer, they will put it in a box and send it down the production line. At the end of the production line, a machine stamps it. That's when it may say "Dispatched" - it get throws onto a lorry (literally thrown on) and they drive off to the sorting office.

 

So if you've had 'dispatching now' for about a day, the picker has probably scanned it and it's in a line ready to be sent to the packer. Because there's so many damn pre-orders, it won't matter if you've pre-ordered it first or last, you have to pray the picker picks yours. Once he does, yours is about to be dispatched! Amazon works 24/7, and they work on Sundays. I have worked on a Sunday - 9pm - 5 am and the lorries still send sh*t off. So it honestly can be dispatched ANYTIME.

 

Many people in Amazon also like to take toilet breaks, but they all have targets per hour, GTA V has probably made them up targets. Put it this way, there's probably hundreds of thousands of copies coming from Amazon, they just seriously want to get this nightmare out of the way haha!

 

Edit: Would just like to add - the packaging line has about 15 - 20 people on it each side and there's about 10 rows of lines! BARE IN MIND: Amazon is not going to exclusively ship GTA V, millions of people are also ordering other items as well. But I'm positively sure they have about 2 - 4 lines of just GTA V.

Spoke to an Amazon guy on the phone, and asked why some people have had theirs say "dispatching soon" and "dispatched" and mine still says "not yet dispatched". even though i order well before them and we're in the same area.

 

he said that it may well be that their said dispatch, but its not been handed to the courier company yet [royal mail]. once all orders are ready they will be passed on to the couriers. they have a couple of a hundred thousand copies to send out. so it takes time packaging them all.

 

so its all being made ready for hand over to couriers, in one go, not in batches or individually. hence why some have been stuck on "dispatching soon" for a few days. they started to get people ready a while ago.

 

This is only for those of us who are not in remote locations or Ireland.

I just talked to an Amazon person and they told me they are preparing all dispatch today to be delivered(by this I mean delivered out of there depot.. not to our house) today.. they also said that my order is Scheduled to dispatch today and she can confirm it will be dispatched before the end of the day( she said 11:59) and they continue to dispatch orders at that time too..

 

might be in for a long run here

So glad I never ordered from amazon, just glad i knew of my past experiences with them hope you all get it Monday but Tuesday by the latest though

On the subject of money not being taken out of your account. Bare in mind guys it's Saturday, so transactions wont go through this weekend as banks aren't open. I've had things dispatched on the weekend and arrived on Monday. I don't think it matter if the money's been taken, they usually just take it on Monday.
