Straypuft Posted October 7, 2013 Author Share Posted October 7, 2013 fresh photos from yesterday evening: Akron Children's Hospital Mobile Intensive Care Units by Seluryar, on Flickr the following ambulances responded to a car vs train incident and the teen driver died and her 4 sisters were taken to the local children's hospital. The day turned out that i quickly walked to the hospital to catch a non-akron ambulance, as i approached the hopsital to get the Rootstown ambulance i saw from my apartment windoe, 3 other ambulances arrived, later in the day i found out that they responded to the same incident Ravenna Fire Dept. I do not have a modern scanner, I play by ear, and yesterday was the first time i tried meeting an ambulance at the hospital(5 minute hustle walk) I saw an ambulance approaching the one hospital from my apartment window(there are 2 of them in the same area) It was a warm day yesterday that allowed me to keep my windows open, sadly it is getting colder here and I will not be keeping my windows open and at that, I will not hear ambulances approaching. I tried to find one on the interwebz of a Parma Caprice PPV (I don't live in Parma, but I know they have one), but no such luck. I also can't find any of Westlake's Chevy Silverado. I came here to post some Ohio cars, but it seems you took the cake I agree with the Crown Vic discussion, if you go to GovDeals.com, you will see in the Automobiles category the majority of vehicles up for auction are Crown Vics that reached their service life. Most are being phased out for Taurus's, Impalas, Chargers (especially for HP), as well as the growing trend of Tahoes, Explorers, and Caprices, which I don't mind. "service limit" for most departments in the US is defined as a repair-cost-ratio. once annual service begins to exceed the value of the vehicle - regardless of mileage or performance - the department will usually ping City Hall for replacement funds. these vehicles will usually be offered to other agencies first as salvage before simply being auctioned or crushed. you often see ex-police cruisers functioning as city government vehicles or decommissioned as taxi cabs around town.
