do you think women characters are a little bit out of place?

First I want to say that this is not meant to be sexist in anyway at all. I am considering whether to be a female or not but I am wondering if it would be a little weird. Are the customisation options just as detailed or do you think they will be lacking in certain ways? Also imagine having a female character go to the strip club and get a lap dance from strippers and throwing money at them. Does this mean that every woman on GTA online is either a lesbian or bisexual?

 

I'm not trying to say that women shouldn't be included on GTA online, but what do YOU personally think on the matter?

Women go to strip clubs all the time. Sometimes for humor and other times for whatever men get out of it. If I ever go it will probably only be for laughs. I don't know what other guys get out of paying women they can't have sex with to dance in front of them.

 

Also, this is strange. Am I supposed to imagine it and think "Wow, those dirty women. How dare they find sexual gratification in a strip club." I have never liked that whole "Image a woman doing this or that." The genders are not that different.

 

I really don't think this should ever be a big deal. It is just a skin/pixels.

That is a good argument you have given and i suppose I'm going to create a female character after all. Another question I was wondering about is the customisation for women. Do you think it will be as detailed as it is for men characters?

Use to play a MMO called Face of Mankind, played a women cause a friend a competitive guy said they have smaller hit boxes compared to men didn't know that...

Usually its like a 6-20% reduction compared to male boxes it depends on the game though..

 

FOM was bad and females had advantage in combat.

 

I'm still 50/50 on a guy or girl I sure wish we could have alts...I have a Xbox so....one GT.

I'm perfectly capable of being a little more mature than that.

 

Do I enjoy and appreciate the female body and its features, yes. Am I going to get an "e-boner" because some people choose to run around as females so that they can enjoy their character a little more if that's what they want.. No.

Well, whenever I think about this sort of issue, I think of the female characters that have been in the GTA franchise. Women like Catalina, Elizabetta Torres (I think that's how you spell her name), Carmen... In terms of personality, Catalina and Elizabetta were fairly fitting as criminal figures. And Carmen (a datable character in GTA IV) loved going to strip clubs but, to my knowledge, was not a lesbian or bisexual. I'll admit, it was a little awkward to think about women going to strip clubs at first, but then I remember the chicks who actually do go to strip clubs and the reasons why they go to them.

 

Also, I'm with thun3r on the part about the fascination of going to strip clubs. I know why other men do it, but I myself can't empathize with the desire to go to strip clubs. Then again, I'm all about fruitful relationships and meaningful sexual sensations. That, and I probably empathize with women a lot more than some other men here on GTA Forums.

It seem it can never be "well maybe that person wants to use a female character because he can!" its always followed up by "gender identity crisis" or "effeminate", or something dumb.

 

I know the following concept is mind blowing but... didn't you guys ever thought that someone might wanna use a female character because *gasp* they can? Unthinkable i know! Honestly if you can't relate to a female character thats fine but saying people are effeminate or suffer from gender identity crisis when they use one, is being ignorant.

 

Now a guy playing as a female AND acting as one to get attention thats a whole different story. Now that is sad..

It would be interesting to see a female protagonist. Ever played Sleeping Dogs? There's this woman called Broken Nose Jiang, a Madam Redpole. When I first saw her, I wanted to know her backstory and how she got into the crime world. It would be very interesting to play GTA through a woman's eyes. I have no problem with that.

¹Lisbeth Salander from The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo would make an awesome character in GTAV. Imagine being able to swap to her, as she follows up and starts tracking down micheal, trevor and franklin. I could play that. Starts with her in a dingy yellow dim room with the laptop in front of her. looking hardcore as hell and void of a smile, more macho than the other guys in the game.

The thing that annoys me about women characters in online GTA IV, is that fat virgin losers who think it's a hot girl playing her (As opposed to a fat male virgin), like...don't kill them, or want to protect them, cause they want to impress the 'girl'.

 

That's not the fault of females though, that's just the nature of gaming being what it is that fat, virgin neckbeards craving any form of female attention even if it's from a computer game.

 

So I really have no issue with female online characters because there are women who play who don't wanna play a man, which is fine.

 

But I don't believe there should ever be a female protagonist because it's just not realistic for a woman to do multiple heists and kill a bunch of police in bank raids.

What about RPGs where the story differs at points based on your character's gender? What about people who just do it because they can?

This is what I`ve written in a similar thread:

 

Not everyone`s idea of fun is to create a lookalike. Mine is to play something I like looking at. I like to look at women, got married to a wonderful one, so I will create a female avatar. My wife will watch me play when she will be able.

 

Maybe some people are a bit slow and don`t comprehend some other`s ideas of fun. This is a game, remember?

 

[EDIT]I also own a mic, btw. And if you can`t stand a female avatar with a male voice... you got issues, buddy.
