DryBomber5
I saw the picture where someone took the GTA 4 map and scaled it onto the map in GTA 5 and wanna know if it's legit? I'm not sure who to believe, especially since a lot of people were disappointed with the map. I'm not one of those people and I just wanna know. I think as long as the city of Los Santos is bigger or about the same size as Libery city, then I'll be happy. GTA 4's map was pretty big, so imagine that plus the county region... which seems much larger than Los Santos, which is already big to BEGIN WITH. Sorry if this is old news. DryBomber5
GTA V's map is a few times bigger than Liberty City (GTA IV) I know that.. I'm specifically asking if Los Santos (city region) is bigger than the GTA 4 map. theGTAking101
S-M-O-K-E
Hes talking about just the city of LS compared to LC not including Blaine County. Edit: beat to the punch Edited September 10, 2013 by S-M-O-K-E
Smith John
It is the same size as LC without the rivers. So it will be quicker to cross Los Santos, making it feel smaller than Liberty City. bash the fash m8s
s44rgg
Some people have tried to scale it, but it is hard as at first glance, Los Santos doesn't seem so big when viewed alone. The runway will probably be the same size in both games so that is a good way to scale.
FireBallz21
Without the water areas inbetween the 3 cities in LC, LS may be bigger.

It is better to scale the map based on the actual scale shown on the official map.

Mr. Rocko
I think it's around the same size.

Should've asked in that thread then, not start a new one. I'll be polite and answer... the map seems pretty legit as does Darkhater's scaling. LS looks about the same size as LC. Then another 4 times the land mass. Then the ocean. It's big, man...!

If you compacted all LC islands into one island it's the same size as LS

DryBomber5
It is the same size as LC without the rivers. So it will be quicker to cross Los Santos, making it feel smaller than Liberty City. So basically if you take out the water in GTA 4, that's the size of Los Santos? I'm fine with that, especially since the water was pretty useless in GTA 4.
TenEightyOne
LS has more square footage than LC I'm not so sure, unless you mean the whole landmass. LC looks slightly larger although in fairness all the edges were urban. I think the edges of the LS urban area will change quickly to scrub like it was around the cities in SA. Yeah, the water was useless, but it made the city feel huge. Just think how long it took to drive from the airport to Alderney. Now if you took the bridges and rivers out, and just clumped the islands together, it would take much less time to cross. This is why I believe Los Santos will feel much smaller than Liberty City. bash the fash m8s
Starz
From looking at the comparison on the map, if you took away the water area and crushed it together Liberty City would probably be a little bigger. It's still huge though.

killahmatic
I still question the quote that said its bigger than IV, SA, and RDR combined. To me, the map looks no bigger than San Andreas alone. I truly believe the island is way bigger and everything is spread out more than it looks, but that map makes it look smaller than it is. V is gonna be a blast.
