I need a good quility gaming headset preferably under 100$. I've been looking for a wireless universal one, but a wired one for ps3 would be alright. I just don't want to buy a headset and have it be sh*t. Any reccomendations?

I have a universal wireless Afterglow, got it at gamestop for 79.00 I think. It works great for me, mic works great and sound is incredible. Got it at gamestop but you can get it from another place....Good luck on your search

The official Playstation wireless headset. I bought it for V because my other headset is half broken, I love it so far, great audio quality and my friends say my voice sounds crisp as f*ck with it.

It also works on PC and might work on 360 if it uses USB, but don't quote me on that.

I've been comtemplating buying it, but I read the reviews and heard it's sh*t. Is it comfy? Can you use it with your pc, ps3/xbox and iphone or whatever? How's the sonud quality, and is it like a turtle beach does the tv audio go through it well? Also I'd appriciate pics.

Don't go wireless if you're on a budget. A headset needs advanced wireless technology to function properly without a cable. Most high end models have dual-band Wi-Fi, which eliminates virtually all interference, but is a pricey bit of tech. The Astro A50, Turtle Beach XP/PX-series and Mad Catz Tritton Warhead are all really good wireless headsets, but as you can see, their prices reflect that quality.

I think Tritton and Turtle Beach make pretty good wired stereo headsets for a fair price though. Check last year's models on Amazon. Crazy discounts sometimes.

Personally I'd stay away from Razer. Their Carcharias headset at 70 bucks looks interesting, but Razer's build quality is mediocre at best.

I know you said under $100 but if you want a really good wireless headset buy some Astro A50's. They are brilliant and so comfy, really worth the price tag

Yeah i read the reviews and the guy at gamestop was like it doesnt fit large heads...i wanted it and wasnt going to be talked out of it. I wear a 7 1/4 hat and it fits fine. The ear muffs work great. I havent tried it on anything other then PC but it does come with a bunch of cords to connect to other things. I will get you some pics in a sec

Get some real headphones and a USB mic, you get more bang for your buck. Wireless is mostly a bad idea, though I have positive experiences from the Astro wireless MixAmp .

I used to use surround sets for my gaming, but i got neighbors living below me, and i like a STRONG bass in my sound, my neighbors however don't. So i came with a solution after i had tried certain gaming headphones at Gamescom. It was the Turtle Beach X12 and for stereo headphones they are insane good, with a ridiculously good bass too. But if you go for Turtle Beach, get the DX12, cause they are surround.

Personally i'm doing my best to buy the Astro A40's before V comes out. Those are said to be pretty much the best you can get. But seriously...surround sets are good, but headphones are better becaue you hear EVERY bit of sound there is to hear, i'm not kidding.

I recently got the Sharkoon X-attic Pro. They are a nice fit on any head, the earcups are great and it brings real 5.1 surround sound. :D

Why does it have to be a USB? You can use an RCA to 3.5mm adapter (or 6.3mm if your phones work with that)

The New Blueguy

I just picked up the Turtle Beach PX11 not too long ago. It's wired but it does the job excellently.
