LS Rock Radio is pretty dissapointing. A lot of it isn't what I would call rock. That said I was happy to see the original version of

California Soul

made it in

After being a huge Rock Band/Guitar Hero player in the past, It's very difficult and expensive to license music for use in games. sometimes it just isn't possible because the record companies or artists want to play ball. That's why you hardly see any appearances from bands like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. R* Star did well to get Welcome to the Jungle for San Andreas, that's quite an achievement since Axl. Rose sues everyone.

 

Newer artists tend to be more willing to get more exposure, which is why there is loads of modern music on the game. It's even harder I believe to get covers of songs, since you need to seek permission from not only the artist who sampled the music, but also where they sampled it from.

It's sounded great so far. Love FlyLo FM, the soul station hosted by Pam Grier, the Reggae station, and Rebel Radio.

 

Was also fooling around out in the countryside listening to Danny McBride's talk radio station for like an hour this morning. sh*t is hilarious. Great soundtrack overall.

I'd rather listen to some music I never will hear if not for GTA then just listen to some music I already know I like anyway.
