Are Rockstar Taking the Grand Theft Auto out of Grand Theft Auto?

I remember a Rockstar official saying something like "If you steal a car the police will chase after you if they see you in that car" What is going on, I know they're trying to be as realistic as possible but they're taking it a little too far. I also hate Saints Row so don't say "OMG GO PLAY SAINTS ROW RETARD!!!!11"

I don't get your point?

You can still steal every vehicle in this game!

They're basically trying to push the buying part rater than the stealing part, Look at the game title.

If anything, surely it focuses more on the "Theft" part now, rarely than "I Own Every Auto I Can See V"

You don't have to buy yourself a car. You can still jack a car you want to drive and store them at your garage or take them on races or missions with you. Stealing is still there. It's the Triangle Button on PS3 and the Y button on XBOX360.

No, I think its a cool direction for the game. eg. When you see cool car you have the opportunity to steal it which has consequnces of a numberplate change or you save up and buy the car with the consequences being the money spent..

These are just little details Rockstar have added. You can still steal cars but you just have to change the license plate and color of the vehicle.

Repossesion is not stealing, however he works for a guy who sells cars and Franklin steals them back

People probably said the same thing about car locks and alarms in IV, and those turned out to be a non-issue in the end.

OP's retarded. Even in older GTA games, if you stole a car near a police car, they would still come after you.

Oh my f*cking god read you fat retard I mean say I was in LS I could drive to Blaine county and be arrested for stealing that car in LS

Well grand Theft Auto is a crime, so in past gta games stealing a car freely defeats the whole word in meaning. So I guess rockstar made grand Theft Auto actually grand Theft Auto. If you get what i mean. Lol it's actually a law breaker and u get penalized if caught. So do your best not to. People seem to want everything so easy, games are evolving this new feature isn't a let down. It's actually a plus to me. Now I'll be a little more cautious stealing a vehicle.

Why have all that money if you can't spend it... To be honest it's a great idea because they implemented a risk reward factor. You can by the car legally, or steal the car and risk getting wanted. All you have to do is change the license plate and you should be fine.

This is also great because it feel like you actually own the car whether you purchased or stole because you have to actually modify the car. And its going to make me want to obtain more money during heist so that I have money to spend on things like cars. Everything R* did was for a reason :beerhat:

Yes, well modern gamers want everything handed to them on a plate. If a game is challenging, it's considered annoying.

If you steal a car in Los Santos, you will still get arrested in Blaine County.

If you do not want to be arrested, change the color and get a new license plate.
