Will GTA online be a endless battlefield?

So i've been thinking. since GTA online is like a bunch of people in a map, will we be able to be there relaxed or it will be a battlefield? Like everyone shooting at everyone, planes flying, shooting, like a endless fight with alot of players

 

 

Is there any chance we can just hang there like ride through the city without being bombed or something like that?

Indeed, there is an option available through which one becomes invincible and cannot assault other players.

There will be games that are practically a deathmatch in free roam but I Dont see why people can't go about their own business in such a large map.

On IV people would either be racing towards the helicopters or the Sultan RS', blowing up whoever gets it before them. It was even worse on TBOGT, hackers spawning sh*t in and blowing up your car and setting you on fire 24/7.

I imagine it will be a lot like Red Dead Redemption - lots of space on the map, and it will be possible to avoid other people for a significant portion of time if you want to. There's also passive mode, which is designed to let you wander around without allowing you to be killed (or do any killing). It remains to be seen how blips will work, which will also determine how easy it is for people to find you to mess with you. I'd like for the blips to work like they did in the RDR competitive modes (and in Max Payne, I think), where the blips only show if you're running or shooting.

With 16 players on a map this big, it will be rare to even see someone. Unlike GTA IV we actually have stuff to do as well.

I'm assuming we spawn in our apartment. It may be the case that we are given some run-down apartment, and as we progress and accumulate funds, we can purchase better ones. I doubt we'll be homeless off the plane.

I think they will make people spawn far away from eachother, that's my assumption. They must have taken this into account and learnt from their mistakes.

In GTA IV it was the room starter that chose spawn distance and duration.

The biggest difference between this and IV (and Red Dead) is that this time we will all have things to be getting on with. Whereas before it really was just a great big playground, now we all have our own goals within the online environment.

 

I really hope this means I will be able to walk past someone on the map who is just too busy to shoot me in the face.

Well the map is massive and the max amount of players to a server is 16 so I dont think that its gonna be a battleground at all.
Tbh I hope that they increase he server size if possible cause 16 isnt that big.

Nope otherwise I wouldn't be interested thanks to dickhead trolls and modders.

It's 16 players max per room and you get to pick who you play with. You also get ranked for your behaviour so you know who to avoid. Thank you Rockstar!
