Flgracing
I just did a quick ring around to my local JB, KMart and Target shops and pretty much got told the same thing. Wait til Tuesday. I think the only way you could get lucky is if you get a person who is just filling in and didn't know about the street date...

maybeshewill
I used to work at EB Games. The only way they'll sell it early is if another store has sold it early and someone has proof (a receipt etc). EB Games then has to wait for the go-ahead from the higher-ups then they can sell it. I doubt it will happen though.. but if it does it'll be a dumbass company like K-Mart whose employees don't know anything about the games they're selling. Also yes EB Games sucks ass for prices, but that's what price matching is for.. and you also have the 7 day return policy. I'd normally buy from Ozgameshop but I'm not waiting another week for GTA for the sake of $20. Edited September 13, 2013 by maybeshewill

urbanfire
I pre-ordered from JB so if the street date is broken does it mean I can pick it up early? or only people who didn't pre-order can just go in and buy it? Nope. I went to JB Hifi asking them when do the gta v stock come in. They said it can be up to a week earlier, or a day earlier. Either way, they won't break street date because they don't want to cop a huge fine, regardless of whether other stores are doing it. As for EB games, most have midnight launches, so there's no street date breaking there either because it would defeat the purpose of midnight launch. We sold games early that were meant to have midnight launches if another store started selling early. If another store sells early, you need to get the go-ahead to do the same ASAP or all your impatient customers go and get it from the other place instead. Algonquin Assassin
Just got a preorder confirmation from EB. I won't be getting mine until the 23rd. Bugger. Would've been better just to have picked the thing up lol. Although they said this was just an estimation and I was upgraded to express post and they also said it'll ship on the 16th. Can't imagine taking 6 days to get here. Oh we'll.
