This is not a map, this is a joke. SAN ANDREAS IS BIGGER FFS!

/faceplam

San Andreas is 13.8 square miles and GTA 5's landmass alone is 17.4 square miles excluding the Alamo Sea (so the map including the ocean is even bigger).

Here's my grid ladies.

Map is ~30 square miles. Enjoy

Edit: had to fix the grid on the right side. Map and grid are now 100% perfect.

First of all. f*ck metric. Someone extrapolate 5280 ft or 1 mile from the scale and they will see the map is perhaps 7 miles from N to S approx.

michael-scott-no.gif

5280ft = 1 mile seems so much more logical than 1000m = 1km :sui:

On topic: the map will be big enough, just wait till the 17th.

People and this eagerness to complicate their lifes :/

Could somebody pinpoint the exact location of the prison please?

Can't find it for the life of me.

To the south of that blue dot that is on the right of sandy shores airport^

What if Rockstar PURPOSELY leaked a FAKE map? This map is by FAR the most realistic looking map to date, but after all of the trouble Rockstar went through to keep everything secret, why would they allow easy access to the single most important thing about GTAV, the MAP.

Rockstar is capable of creating realistic phony map, and "leaking" it themselves. This is PERFECT, because the picture is JUST clear enough to show a high level of detail, WITHOUT making it look obvious. A super clear hd photo would make people suspicious, while this low quality photo looks like someone took a quick snapshot with a simple cellphone camera.

I just don't believe they would be so careless with the map details. I think this is a RUSE.

If you notice I broke down the scale from which I believe to be the 2000ft mark and the end which is the 5000ft mark.....this scale would even out to 3000ft. I've segmented that scale from the most bottom point to the most northern and it evens out around 34 marks. So (34 x 3000ft = 102,000ft.) 102,000ft equals out to about 19.31miles or (31.08 kilometers). Lets just say thats a pretty good trek if you were given a straight-shot road from south to north......but, of course we have roads and mountains and its much more vast when you consider the all around scale of the map. Hope this helps.

PS: If there was a straight road from the bottom to the top-- driving at 50mph would take about 22 minutes and 48 seconds real time to get from A to B.

Your calculation is completely off. It is not 2000ft then jump to 5000ft on their scale. It's 2000ft to 3000ft, so each scale bar is only 1000ft. I have crafted a completely accurate grid and scale above and the true dimensions of the map are 6.25 x 4.73 miles = ~30 square miles.

NO! At the end of scale is 3000ft which is 1000m in the bottom. Your calculations should be 34x1000ft = 34000ft = 6,44 miles (10,4 km).

SO the map is not that big

Did you count landmass only or the whole visible map?

If landmass is 30 square miles, then it's 2,2 times bigger than San Andreas

Doesn't really matter, just easier to feed miles in to the final equation I guess.

Looking at it, it does not look bigger than GTA 4, Red Dead Redemption and San Andreas combined...

They never said it was bigger than that.

yes they did. where the f*ckk have you been ?

Damn, so landmass is even smaller...

Probably closer to 20 square miles

Assuming that the land is 20 square miles (might be even less), map is 1,5 times bigger than San Andreas.

Doesn't sound impressive or "huge" at all.
