You know how this is fake... ?? In the newest OFFICIAL TRAILER video, you'll see the VINEWOOD sign.. look all the way to the right side and you'll see the Dam. That Dam is no where to be found on that map image. There you go.

The scale at the bottom left is cut off , the pic is not complete and thus the scale is NOT 1KM. Only approx 600m.

No man the meter scale goes out further that the 1000 ft scale. 1000ft = 600m. So where the ft scale ends is 600m but it goes further.

The land area is only 17.4 sq miles with LS city coming in around 4 sq miles. Or approx 2 by 2 miles if it was a grid. I wish people would refer to actual measurements when calling an area 'small' or 'large'. The map is NOT that large . 17.4 sq miles is just over 4 by 4 miles. No doubt airspeed in jets will have to be unrealistically slow or you would fly over in no time.

 

Elemental . The scale is only 2/3 complete. It shows 2000ft. I overlayed 1/4 sq grids and could just about cover LS with 16 of the, hence 4 sq miles for LS. Not large, but larger than the land area of IV (3.2sq miles).

This doesn't make sense. Unless they realised that it was a hoax, they would NOT say that. Sure, it looks very impressive, I really am content with whatever im given with, but this is fake.

 

I am certain it is not a fake. Rockstar likely changed their stance because this leak can't possibly be stopped any longer. The game is coming out next week and Rockstar can't stop the flood. There will be people playing the game in a few days max.

No.. you're not gettin' it. The Dam is located RIGHT beside the Vinewood sign. Go look at the Official Trailer.

If you were playing the game and you were looking at the Vinewood Sign, it would be to the left, probably up over a hill out of sight if you were down below.. (you'd have to be up high to actually see it). In the trailer the camera is behind the Vinewood sign looking out into the city and the Dam is to the right of it.

First of all. f*ck metric. Someone extrapolate 5280 ft or 1 mile from the scale and they will see the map is perhaps 7 miles from N to S approx.

I have a question for all of you that are making map analysis of Los Santos. Are you including Los Santos county, the area outside of the urban area of Los Santos? There clearly is a boarder between Los Santos County and Blaine County. One would think Los Santos county would be included in the Los Santos big/small debate.

 

EDIT: It seems like Route 68 is the border between LS County and Blaine County.

The overall area itself looks huge! but yes, the town/city area's do look a little small in comparasion to open land...

 

Dont think anybody else has mentioned this, but around the island itself, there seems to be numourous little offshore islands, about 15 of them... surely they are playable too?

 

Cant just be an unattanable islands put in the game to look pretty, there must be something on them.. maybe thats Rockstars secret? Maybe one of them is North Yankton?

You see that lake west of Vinewood sign? you can see the very southern road perimetering the lake is in the shape of a curved dam. This is the dam you are seeing on the Vinewood sign screenshot. There is another dam east of the Vinewood sign damming the land act reservoir which is the one you are thinking of.

 

The map is real god damnit stop being stupid and open your eyes.
